Hello Aspirant,
In IIM(Indian Institute of Management) academic diversity means that IIM do not want students of same background(All engineers) rather they wants students of Diverse academic background that means they want few students of Engineering background few of management , medical , commerce etc , so that their batches remains diverse and not monotonic.
They also give a little bit higher preference to student of non-engineering background as there are so many engineers applying and clearing for CAT exams.
Hope this helps.
Hello,
Cat and Nmat have same syllabus but their exam structure are slightly different. Nmat is an adaptive test whereas Cat is not. As per the previous trends you can leave some quants chapter that may not come in your exam but no one can give you the surety that this topic will come or not. My advice for you is that prepare the whole syllabus and if you feel like you need to leave few chapters then leave it and work on your strong areas. Attempt those question which are your strength. In actual paper you need not to solve all the questions, just pick those in which you are confident and can solve it correctly.
NMAT is a national level exam which is conducted by GMAC. It consists of three sections which are-
1.Language skills
2.Quantitative skills
3.Logical reasoning
The expected cutoff for NMIMS will be between 205-250.
For all other details and sectional cut off you can visit this website-
The scores for the NMAT exam would be made available to you within 48 hours of your attempt, which would be a scaled score. Also, this year there would only be one window in which you’d have to give the exam and not wait for one window to end and the next to start in case you are planning to give multiple attempts.
I hope this helps!
Thank you
NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is one of the most popular MBA entrance exams in India. Getting the exact number of marks for a percentile to it’s first decimal point is difficult as NMAT releases percentiles only as whole numbers.
The 99%ile range starts somewhere from between 220 and 230 marks. I have heard of people getting 265 marks as well, but we don’t know what the highest scores are every year - so for 99.9%ile there is no saying which score will get you there.
However, if you are looking to get admission in NMIMS Mumbai, a score 210 will clear cutoff for sure (given that you also clear your sectional cutoffs) and a score of 220+ will give you a more than fair chance of conversion.
NMIMS gives a weightage of 70% to NMAT scores, so be sure to do well in your exam.
All the best!
Hope it will help!
Thank you!
