which is Better ipmat or clat???

Pompi Bhadra 19th May, 2020
Hello Aspirant!

IPMAT and CLAT are related to two different fields. And it basically depends on your field of interest to decide which one will be better for you.

IPMAT (Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test) as the name suggests, is a national level entrance exam conducted by IIM, Indore to provide admission to its UG 5-years integrated management programs.
Apart from IIM-Indore, Nirma University which is a renowned b-school, also accepts IIM-Indore IPMAT scores. So, if you want to pursue a 5 years integrated degree in management (BBA+MBA) from IIM, Indore or Nirma University, and develop a career in Management and its related aspects in future, you should aim at cracking IPMAT.

*In 2019, IIM Rohtak has also launched its individual IPMAT.

CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is also a national level entrance exam, but for providing admission to 22 national law universities (NLUs) in India (except NLU Delhi) , and many other law institutes.
It is for UG law courses like LLB, 5 years Integrated BA+LLB as well as for PG programs like LLM.
If you are considering law as a career, it is worth preparing for CLAT.

I hope this answer will help you.

which is the best coaching for ipmat?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 13th May, 2020
Aastha, wih the country under lockdown, online classes or self preparation will be the new trend. Wr are not sure of classes where you can join but we can help you with your IPMAT preparation.

IPMAT has 2 sections Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Now QA has 60 marks allotted and VA has 40 marks. Each correct answer gets you 4 marks and a wrong answer takes away 1 mark in the form of negative marking. Though there has been no official release of any syllabus, based on examinations over the years, it has been concluded that few topics are the most covered,
QA:
Number system, LCM & HCF, Percentage, Quadratic Equations, Binomial Theorem, Functions, Mensuration, Permutation and Combination, Probability, Profit, Loss and Discounts, Simple and Compound Interest, Progressions, Ratio and Proportion, Mixtures and Alligations, Logarithms, Time, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Trigonometry, Geometery, Problems on Ages, Series and Unitary Method, Set Theory, Data Interpretation and Equations.

Because this section involves mathematics and takes most of your time, your focus should be on solving the problems efficiently in the beginning. Even if it takes time, practise upto perfection. Practise as many questions as you can in the conventional way. As and when you get a grip on the subject, you can go for short cuts. Memorise tables, square roots, cube roots, conversion from percent to fraction, etc. Solve sample papers on Mathematics. In the beginning, do not worry about the time it takes. As you practise, you will get the hang of the subject and it will be easier for you.

VA:
Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Sentence Rearrangement, Sentence Correction, Sentence Completion, Correct Usage of words and phrases and verbal analogies.

In Verbal Ability session, command on your English, Grammar, Vocabulary, Understanding of the given paragraph are of more importance. Reading English NewsPaper will also help you in your preparation. Read articles from time to time. Follow newspapers, magazines, and watch the news channels and browse the internet to keep yourself updated. You will need a lot of reading to help you in the comprehension section. You will need speed to help you in this section and you can achieve that only by thorough practise and reading. Take time to understand the question because most answers are interlinked.

Currently Im preparing for DUJat and IPMAT. I wanted to do CA but I was recommended to try my luck in these trendy courses. My mind is now a little focused and Im aspiring for either SSCBS or IIM I.But my concern is that.. is an MBA even worth it? I dont want to wait for ages to get settled.

Shudhanshu Gupta Student Expert 18th Jun, 2020
Hello.
First you need to know that there is not any age limit criteria for getting into IIM for MBA course so you don't need to  wait, for that you will have to give CAT examination whensoever your bachelor degree completes, admission will be confirm on the basis of your CAT score + your academic score + personal interview + GD and your work experience,  doing MBA may be worthful if your mind is towards management or towards having good knowledge for startup, I would suggest you to focus on single thing at a time if the syllabus of all these match then you can do but if it doesn't so it may create a lot of of problem for you, even worth ness  of MBA  course also depends upon your bachelor degree in which area you did if you want to know it so you can mention your bachelor degree which you have done or going to complete
Best of luck.
