Do we have to fill separate forms for all the iift colleges apart from iift entrance exam? Which iift college is the the best among the three colleges?

aswathypadinjakkara 9th Oct, 2021

Hi

IIFT MBA entrance exam is a national-level management entrance test which is conducted by NTA.The result of IIFT 2022 will be declared by the last week of December 2021. Once the IIFT exam results are declared, the institute will release the IIFT shortlist for MBA programme in online mode. The institute conducts a personality assessment of the candidates who meet the cut-off of IIFT for admission. This personality assessment includes Essay Writing, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview.After all this the students are evaluated on several parameters and publish the final merit list.You don't have to fill separate forms. Both the three colleges are good. Delhi campus has higher cutoff then Kolkata and then Kakinada.

While filling the IIFT application form, under the academics section, neither is the name of my course mentioned nor the college. I have a B.design degree from National Institute of fashion technology, now I dont know what should I select since there is no option of writing manually.

Bhavesh gupta 6th Oct, 2021

Hello aspirant

hope you are doing well and safe. As per your query , I would glad to inform you that dont need to get worry ,sometimes it is very difficulty to mention the all the courses by the authorities from their end on the portal so they always make the column others to write the course . I would suggest you to write on that if this option is not available ,then your course is not eligible for the IIFT application

Hope you found this answer informative. Best wishes for your future

in the iift paper tgere are 6 section is there any sectional cut off ? if we want to attemp only4 can we and what is time duration of test

Purbayan Chatterjee 1st Oct, 2021

Hello Tushar,

Hope you are doing all good. The IIFT paper pattern has changed majorly and now it is not a 6 section paper but have been reduced to 4 sections. Some more insights about the exam that might prove to be helpful are:

  • Exam Duration: 2 hours (120 minutes)
  • Sectional Time Limit: No Sectional Time Limit
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Total Number of Questions: 110 (may vary this year)
  • Total Marks: 300 (3 marks for each correct answers in Sections 1,2,3 and 1.5 marks for each correct answers in Section 4)
  • Sections :
    • Section 1: Quantitative Ability (QA)
    • Section 2: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
    • Section 3: Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation (LRDI)
    • Section 4: General Knowledge (GK)

For more information, do visit: https://bschool.careers360.com/articles/iift-exam-pattern

Also, to answer your question... Yes, IIFT has sectional cutoff. So you cannot manage to leave any section. The expected cutoffs for the sections are:

  • QA ==> 15-16
  • LR & DI ==> 20-22
  • VA & RC ==> 32-35
  • GK ==> 5-7

Hope this helps.

if a sc category student has 67.77 in ssc , 52.27 in hsc , 7.0 cgpa in graduation and he is non engineer.if he score 99+ in cat so is there any chances that he will getting any call from old or main iim. he should target cat or he can prepare for other exam like xat , snap , nmat , iift ?

Purbayan Chatterjee 12th Sep, 2021

Hi Omkar,

It is very difficult to state definitely whether you'll get a call from the old (IIMs I,K,L) or main (IIMs A,B,C) IIMs  with your past academics records even on scoring 99+ percentile in CAT. There are reservations no doubt and you will be eligible for that, but usually for these IIMs especially IIM A,B and C, somewhat around 99 percentiles are required for non-engineers with good academic scores for non-reserved candidates.

All that said, under the CAT umbrella several other B-Schools come most of which do not see your past academics and a lot of them provide really good placements at par with IIMs. So with 99+ in CAT you'll easily be able to get calls from them.

Therefore, work hard for CAT and let fate decide what is in for you.

All the best.
