I have an aggregate percentage of 76% in BCom, 92.5% in 10th, and 94.8% in 12th. Do BCom marks play a significant role in determining my admission to IIM Bangalore? Im yet to give my CAT exam, so with high CAT scores and with the present academic situation is there a good chance to get in?

Khyati Khushalani 20th Jun, 2022

Hello aspirant,

to get admission in IIM B, you firstly have to score good in CAT,because you will get a call from college only when your score of cat matches the cutt off, so firstly u need to focus on cat score...Also, the scores which you have in your college, 10th and 12th are pretty good which can give you a good chance of getting admission in iim b, its just you have to work hard in CAT to get a call from them. Also after giving cat you can add various other cerfication courses or experience in your portfolio..which is also plays a vital role at the time of interview and when they check your academics

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well..!!!

The hole doesn't have an effect in that frame of mind to seek after MBA .The main thing you need to zero in is on your CAT percentile. A splendid score in CAT would guarantee you a call from practically all of the IIMs. In this way, put your head down and begin planning for CAT quickly without stressing over the hole of 3 years.

Hope this information helps you!!!

HELLO SIR/MAAM I AM CONFUSED BETWEEN CAT AND GATE ; THAT WHICH WILL HELP ME TO EXPLORE THE WORLD AND LET ME LIVE ADVENTURISTIC LIFE...?

prashant kumar 10th Jun, 2022

First of all , let me make it clear for you that both the exams are different. One is for MBA (CAT) , and other is for M.TECH (GATE). In both the exams it totally depends upon the college and the placement that you will get. For example , If you do MBA from IIM Calcutta , and you choose consulting, if you are recruited by a top consulting firm, then there is a very higher possibility that you will get to travel the world and make a lot of money. Same with M.TECH . So , it totally depends upon the college, placements , and the stream you choose . To sum up, choose that course for which you are passionate.

Anurag Khanna 9th May, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

See with such CAT score it is quite difficult to get any of the IIMs because you academic record is also not very good, your overall academic performance is on average side so I would recommend you to take a drop and prepare for CAT 2023.

Now let us discuss how to prepare for three sections so that you can get the best score which can take you to the best B-Schools of the country.

For Quantitative Ability :-

> For this section your pre-requisite is the complete understanding of basics of Mathematics.

> You should have proper command on topics like profit and loss, number system, geometry.

> Practice as many as sample papers you can and go for some mock tests as well.

> Go through newspapers, journals, blogs, articles, etc to enhance your reading skills and watch some English visuals such as English News, web series, movies and likewise.

For complete details about preparation of VARC section kindly check out the link given below :-

https://bschool.careers360.com/articles/how-prepare-for-cat-varc

umm which is best city for cat coaching ahemdabad or pune and the specific institute in specific city because everyone had different views and different faculty. so I am big in trouble

Astha Jain 4th Jun, 2022

The word 'best' is subjective in nature . Some students might like one faculty but others might not. Therefore the more views you take the more confused you will be and the more you will delay your preparation. I would suggest you to enroll in classes having decent faculty and also consider some other factors such as the distance between your home and the coaching centre etc as travel time does matter alot. For CAT coaching is a support system but what matters is your own efforts.

Some of the renouned coaching institutes are TIME Ahemdabad and Career Launcher . You can even take online classes for CAT preparation and in that case location won't be a constraint for you.
