Hi,
First of all DON'T JOIN average College,join TCS, WORK HARD.3year experience+ MBA is the best combination.MBA program is designed in such a way that experienced people should get hold of managerial skills so having 2-3 years exp is preferred choice by almost all business schools..Work hard on weekends,Once you join TCS, you are likely to loose interest in further studies, you will find it difficult to manage time for studies. You may loose your focus. Your colleagues will not be corporative. Inspite of all this YOU NEED TO FIGHT YOUR BATTLE, AND NEVER SUCCUMB TO all these. Only strong willpower,confidence,NEVER QUIT attitude is required.
Having said that within next 2 years you should also look for GOOD MBA COLLEGES.
I'm available if you need help with this.
Good luck!!
Dear Aspirant,
After your CAT Exam is over, you will get the results in January first week and according to your percentile, category and profile, you will get interview calls from colleges for which you are eligible. Depending on your category and what colleges you aim for, you need to set a target to achieve a said percentile. Because your final selection in any college is not possible without clearing the cutoffs. A thumb rule would be to aim for a percentile in the 90s.
According to the eligibility criteria, you have to be in the final year of your graduation to appear for the CAT exam. So you can go for the exam when you’re in the final year but not in the second year. You also have options to take a drop and prepare and give the exam after your graduation or to get work experience and then give the exam 2-3 years later. It’s totally up to you. All the best!
Hello aspirant,
It will be really difficult to predict the exact prediction of colleges that you can get as you haven't mentioned your category - OBC, SC, ST, or EWS. This is important because the JEE mains cutoff are different for different category students and it varies every year.
Anyways, if you belong to the OBC category and so with your above mentioned category rank, you have good chances of getting decent NIT's and IIIT's in JOSAA and CSAB counselling in good branches.
But if you belong to any of the EWS, SC, or ST category, then it will be very difficult for you to get any good NIT or IIIT as the required rank for all these categories are around 2k-4k, 2k-3k, 1k-2k respectively in JEE mains, as acocrding to the previous year JEE mains Cutoff analysis.
To know more about the JEE mains Cutoff, you can follow the below mentioned link : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff
To know about your chances of admissions in other colleges, you can follow the below mentioned link to know more : https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=jee_cp
I hope that this will help.
Hi there.
The CAT cut-off percentile for the top IIMs for candidates in the general category is said to be between 98 and 100. Comparatively speaking, it will be lower for other IIMs. Category-by-category, the CAT cutoff is fixed. The cutoff is low for pupils in the restricted group and high ,i.e.90 for general category students , i.e.70 and below.
Hello Gouri,
First of all, congrats on your grades in school and college.
I now turn to your question.
Try to obtain a minimum percentile score of 40+ (ST Category) on each and every area of the CAT exam in order to receive calls from any new IIMs. It is advised to get a score of 70+ (ST Category) percentile or above in each component in order to receive calls from top IIM-A, B, C, and FMS.
Please note that, even if you have a high CAT score, there is no assurance that you will receive calls from past IIMs because the CAT Scores are only one of the criteria taken into account during the selection process.
I suggest aiming for the best CAT exam score you can get. Even with a very high score, there is no guarantee that you will be picked.
I wish you luck!
Hello Aspirant,
See If we go through the analysis of marks Vs Percentile Vs rank for JEE-Main 2021 then according to the marks mentioned by you in the question your percentile is
>>>>>>>> expected to be in the range of 79.34 - 82.6 .
You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank and percentile :-
https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
Note that the percentile which is predicted is only the expected percentile on the basis of previous year's data so your actual percentile might vary depending upon current factors.
On such percentile range and being an OBC-NCL candidate you have good chances to qualify for JEE-Advance 2022 but still the cutoffs for this year have not released yet officially.
As the cut-offs are released along with the JEE-Main 2022 result so for now you can get an idea from JEE-Main 2021 qualifying cut-offs that are enlisted below :-
==>> Common Rank List (CRL) - 87.8992241-100.0000000 Percentile
==>> GEN-EWS - 66.2214845-87.8950071 Percentile
==>> Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 68.0234447-87.8950071 Percentile
==>> Scheduled Caste (SC) - 46.8825338-87.8950071 Percentile
==>> Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 34.6728999 87.8474721 Percentile
==>> PwD - 0.0096375-87.8273359 Percentile
Note that in above table it is not the actual cut-off for JEE-Main 2022 but previous year's cut-off.
You can check out previous year's cut-off trends from the link given below :-
