Dear Vikash, now IIMS have been giving sectional weightage and have been calculating CAT composite score. IIMs like Allahabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore and Lucknow give importance to Quantitative Ability while Institutes like FMS give importance to Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. FMS gives 40% weightage to this section.

Dear Dipendra, we shall not sugarcoat things for you. But unless you score 99 percentile in CAT, IIMs can be little difficult for you. We shall explain this with the help of data and selection criteria of couple of IIMs.

Dear Pradipti, CAT is an online examination of 3 hours duration.The questions in the exam will be of MCQ and TITA type totaling 100 questions. MCQ are multiple choice questions, for which candidates get multiple answer choices. Each Question has 3 marks and a wrong answer takes away 1 mark.
