That's not necessary. If you have a job experience and your academics are good , then definitely you can make it to CAT.

But yes scoring well in CAT should be your priority.  As that would cover your gaps between academics.

You haven't mentioned your Category or the Home State you belong to. Nevertheless, going by previous years data, the chances of you securing a seat in various Colleges in CSE are as follows:

  • NIT Arunachal Pradesh
  • NIT Srinagar
  • NIT Mizoram
  • NIT Sikkim
  • NIT Manipur
