IIFT 2013 Cutoff:
The IIFT 2014 cutoff is expected to be a score of 50+. The total marks in IIFT 2013 were 100. Since the pattern was similar to last year, it is expected that the cutoff will also range in the similar bracket. There will be sectional cutoffs as well for IIFT.
IIFT Scoring Process:
The scoring process of IIFT 2013 followed a differential marking system but the negative marking scheme was uniform, 1/3 of the allotted marks. The following table will show you the marks per section.
IIFT 2013 Area
Marks per Question
Number of Questions
For each wrong answer, 1/3 of the allotted marks would be deducted.
The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the scores and the cutoff marks. The shortlisted candidates will have to write a Statement of Purpose (SoP) which will define the prospective students’ character and justify the purpose of pursuing MBA (IB) from IIFT. The form also includes several questions which introspect the personality of the student.
The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Essay Writing rounds. The topics generally range on General Knowledge or current affairs. For e.g. one of the essay topics of IIFT 2013-15 admission process was ‘The British Raj: Boon or Bane for India’. A GD topic was ‘Should recruiters give the maximum weightage to the MBA degree or individual talent?’
The duration of the Essay Writing round is 20 minutes where the candidates have to write an essay of approximately 300 words.
After the Essay Writing process, the candidates will have to appear for the Group Discussion round. IIFT has a very organized way of conducting GDs. Each candidate will be given 2 minutes to present his/her points. During the GD, any member may be asked to act as a moderator. At the end of the GD, each member of the group would be asked to conclude or summarize the entire discussion. The duration of the GD round ranges from 45 minutes to 1 hour.
The Personal Interview round will depend a lot on the form you have submitted along with the SoP. On the basis of the form and essay, majority of the PI questions will be formed. The duration of the PI round is approximately 20 minutes.
The weights per parameter are expected to be the following for the academic year 2014-16:
IIFT 2013 score
IIFT Conversion Ratio
Every year, around 1000 candidates are shortlisted for around 300 seats. Last year, a total number of 975 IIFT 2012 candidates were shortlisted for 312 seats (235 in IIFT Delhi and 77 in IIFT Kolkata). The number of IIFT takers is around 50, 000. Hence you can guess the immense amount of competition in converting the call of IIFT. “Getting selected into IIFT was a proud moment as I feel getting into MBA (IB) at IIFT is more difficult than getting into any of the other top B-schools,” says Mudrika Chandnani, an IIFT first year student who had scored 57.8 in IIFT 2012.

what should be my Sectional cutoff in iift exam 2020
This is the sectional cutoff of IIFT exam 2020:
Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension 18-20
Quantitative Analysis 16-20
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning 18-20
General Awareness (GK) 8-10
This sectional cutoff is for Delhi IIFT. So for other IIFTs it will be slightly lower.
Is iift consider your past academics record
- Hey, acccording to my opinion IIFT does not consider your past academics record . iift consider your good percentile WAT,PI and GD scores .if you are clear sectional cutoff and over all cutoff then you are eligible for shortlisted candidates .i think IIFT DELHI AND KOLKATA ARE THE GOOD CAMPUS . I THINK YOU SHOULD SCORES GOOD PERCENTILE THEN ACADEMIC RECORD DOES NOT MATTER FOR YOU FIRST YOU SHOULD GIVE TOTAL FOCUS TOWARD ENTRANCE EXAM.....
3.5 months are enough to crack CAT and IIFT exams ? Can anyone suggest me the study plan ? I am targetting maximum 97% in CAT and 145 marks in IIFT.
Sectional Division of Overall Preparation
Know your strengths along with weaknesses
Accept the importance of previous year question papers
Coaching or self-preparation
If you are preparing for CAT exam on a serious note, there won't be any problem preparing for IIFT too, provided you know the correct strategy for it! only the strategy of how you should play in the required format changes. So is the case with IIFT and other similar entrance exams apart from the CAT.
Firstly, from this year onwards, IIFT is conducted by NTA, so for the first time this year, IIFT will be conducted online just like any other MBA entrance exams! So there are two pros mainly I can think of -
- We don't have to spend our time circling the answers.
- We don't have to separately get accustomed to the paper based format from now.
This exam mainly consists of six sections -
- Reading Comprehension
- Verbal Ability
- Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- Quantitative Ability
Hope it helps
Thank you & Good Luck!!!
