I have scored 63 percentile in Cat ,166 marks in Nmat and 47 marks in Snap. Can I get a good college ?

Sudarshan kumar 10th Jan, 2020

According to your CAT percentile you may get in these colleges:-

  1. Christ University Bangalore.
  2. Amrita Business School.
  3. BITS Pilani.
  4. IILM Delhi.
  5. Doon Business School.
  6. MET Mumbai.
  7. IES Mumbai.
  8. Chetana Mumbai.

And according to your NMAT score you can't get into any NMIMS branch and then the college in which you can get admissions are not worth.

And according to your SNAP score you can get into

1-SIMC,PUNE

2- SCIT,PUNE

3-SIMS,PUNE.

But according to me you should not take admission in any of these and prepare for 1 more year, next year you get some better colleges.

Sir already dropped one year after graduation for preparing cat and now I scored really pathetic in cat(49 percentile), xat, snap and Nmat too. Im really confused now that what to do next, should I drop one more year or take admission in any of the average college ?

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 10th Jan, 2020
With your CAT percentile you may not get any good colleges but there are many colleges which select candidates based on their performance in the GD/PI rounds and they don't require you to score much in CAT. You just have to be presentable and show yourself as employable. You can apply for NDIM New Delhi and JIMS Rohini. You can also go for the written exam of IBSAT. They are decent colleges and will provide you a decent job opportunity.

If you have already dropped for a year then it won't be wise enough to drop again because that would create a lot of problems during placements. Some companies like Vedanta, Tata Motors and many other reputed organizations require you to have a maximum academic gap of 1 year.

Do considering all these facts and without further ado you should apply for the above mentioned colleges.

i got 149 in nmat what are my chances to get good college please suggest

rajaman9300 Student Expert 10th Jan, 2020

Hello Poonam

No good college at 149 marks, cutoff for NMIMS Mumbai is 208+ and for NMIMS Bengaluru and Hyderabad it will be 190+ , XUB - HRM also accept Nmat score this year for which cutoff will be 185+.

If you really want to go for MBA course then please give one more attempt.

i have scored 148 in nmat . from which colleges do i expect calls

NAVNEET PANDEY 10th Jan, 2020

Hello snehasis

The cutoff for nmat varies from 80-90% percentile, and marks needed to be in between of this percentile is more than 180 marks, so it's realy difficult for you to get a call from any college, maybe you get a call from B grade college,if seats and cutoff decreases.

I hope it help

Best of luck

  • FORE School of Management
  • TAPMI Manipal
  • Great Lakes Institute of Management Chennai
  • Nirma University
  • GIM Goa
  • BIM Trichy
  • MISB Bocconi

I have got 76 cat percentile and nmat score of 202...which colleges can I get that will be best for my career ahead

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 10th Jan, 2020
With your NMAT scores you can expect the Hyderabad and Bangalore campuses of NMIMS as they require a minimum of 202 in NMAT. But they are not as good as the Mumbai campus. Apart from that you can also get ICFAI Business School Hyderabad and XIMB Bhubaneshwar. XIMB accepts NMAT scores only for their HR program.

With your CAT scores
  • XISS Ranchi
  • ICFAI Business School Hyderabad
  • ITM Navi Mumbai
  • IMT Nagpur and Hyderabad
  • IMI Bhubaneshwar
  • Prin LN Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research Bangalore
  • NDIM New Delhi
  • BIMM Pune and other colleges.
Good Luck

i have scored 89.10 percentile in cat with 97.45 in VA, 91.83 in LRDI, 35.82 in QA, I also scored 190 marks in NMAT. I have 8.4 CGPA in 10th and 84.6% in 12th and 64% in Graduation. Kindly suggest colleges.

To begin with, I would first like to congratulate you on securing such a decent percentile. It is a reflection that your hard work and consistency has paid off. But a little bit of hard work in quants would have been good for you. Though with your percentile, you could have a chance of securing a call from some of the baby IIMs like IIM Jammu, IIM Ranchi(HR Program), IIM Sirmaur, etc but due to poor quant score you might lose out on that. But fortunately, that is the case for only IIMs. These sectional cut offs do not hold for other B-Schools and you will definitely get a call from tier-2 b-Schools which are good enough to land you into a decent package of 10-12 Lakhs Per Annum package.

I am listing down some of those B-Schools from which you could get a call for their GD/PI process and their average package:

B-Schools

Average Package(in Lakhs Per Annum)

Goa Institute of Management, Goa

11.22

Xavier Institute of Management,Bhubaneswar

13.5

T A Pai Institute of Management, Manipal

11.06

IFMR, Chennai

9

Fore School of Management, Delhi

10.8

KJ Somaiya, Mumbai

9.4

LIBA, Chennai

9

LBSIM, Delhi

9.2

Welingkar, Mumbai

7.07

BIM, Trichy

10

Though this is not an exhaustive list and may include several other colleges from which you may get a call depending upon whether you fill their form or not.

Now coming to your NMAT score. It is a borderline score. Though you will not get a call from NMIMS Mumbai but calls from NMIMS Hyderabad and Bangalore campuses can be in your email. Apart from that you may also get a call from Xavier Institute of Management for BM, HRM and RM program. SDA Bocconi and IBS Hyderabad will surely be giving you a call for their further selection process.

You can also appear for CMAT, MHCET and TISS-NET exams for their flagship colleges and courses and believe me they make you a gateway to a lot of good B-Schools.

Finally, it will totally be your decision and whatever stream you choose, do have a talk with their current students as conversing with the college authorities will always give you a rosy picture which can sometimes be not the actual case.

I hope I am able to solve your query. All the best!!!

My NMAT score is 175 and my cat percentile is 82 ( VA-97.8 , DI AND LR - 17.96 , QA - 74.26) .. IN 10th i got 10 cgpa , in 12th 93.75% and In college 69%. No work experince .. do i have any chance at a good college?

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 8th Jan, 2020
You've a pretty good CAT percentile so you must go for colleges accepting CAT scores. With your NMAT score you can get colleges like ICFAI Business School, VIT Vellore and others but with CAT you have the following options
  • LIBA Chennai
  • XIME Bangalore
  • XISS Ranchi
  • LBSIM Delhi
  • IMT Nagpur
  • IMI Bhubaneshwar
  • ITM Navi Mumbai
  • Prin LN Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research and other colleges
They'll provide you better placement opportunities and good alumni network for future and they consider the overall percentile and not the sectional ones.

Good luck
