CAT is tougher than IPM. The ratio of students selected in IPM is 1:100 whereas in CAT it is more than 1:170 I think and the level of exam and interview is also tougher in CAT as compared to IPM.
If you are ready to face difficulty level and want a better rewarding career than you should wait for you graduation to be done and then take CAT.
If you think you will not be able to compete with the tough competition in CAT , then IPMAT is a easier yet a good option for you.

Shriya, IPMAT is an entrance exam for admission to 5 year Integrated Management course in IIM Indore. SAT is for Students who want to study in the US or in Canada. Both the exams have a different reach and scope. If you want to study 5 year Integrated course in IIM Indore after your 12th or equivalent, you need to appear for IPMAT. The book which can be best used in the preparation for IPMAT is 'Crack the IIM Indore IPM Entrance Exam', published by Pearson and written by IIM Lucknow Alumnus Nishit Sinha.

Aryan, there is EWS reservation for admission to IIM Indore for its 5 year Integrated Management Course. If you look at its brochure in Page no# 4 at the link, file:///C:/Users/dell/Downloads/IPM-Domestic_Applicants.pdf (file:///C%3A/Users/dell/Downloads/IPM-Domestic_Applicants.pdf) , it says that the available reservations are NC-OBC,SC,ST and EWS. Now we are not aware of the reason why the certificate format has been taken off, but EWS reservations is available at IIM.
Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) . It is a national level test that is a gateway for admission to the five- year Integrated Program in Management offered at IIM Indore.
So if you have compartment in one subject or you are giving your 12th private it doesn`t matter actually. According to eligibility criteria firstly you have be to passed in your 12th examination (all subject). Or in case of compartment firstly you have to clear or pass your compartment exam.Then only you can go for it.
So according to eligibility criteria of IPMAT by IIM indore :-
The candidate should have scored a minimum of 60% in class 10 th /SSC and class 12 th / HSC or equivalent examination in case of General and NC-OBC category.
Also, the candidate should be of maximum 20 years of age as on July 31, 2020
The candidate should have scored a minimum of 55% in class 10 th /SSC and class 12 th / HSC or equivalent examination in case of SC, ST and PWD (DA) category
The candidate should not be more than 20 years of age as on July 31, 2020 (General and NC/OBC category )
the application filling dates are from February 17,2020 to March 30,2020 And for further updates you can visit to www.iimidr.ac.in the website of IPMAT for updates.
And the fee is Rs 3, 450/- for general category/NC-OBC and Rs 1,770 for reserved category candidates. But you must note that the fee can be paid only in online mode. you can choose to pay the fee by any of the following:
IPMAT 2020 will be held in computer-based test mode (50 total weightage) followed by Written Ability Test (WAT)(15 total weightage) and Personal Interview (PI)(35 total weightage). The final selection of candidates will be based on the total Composite Scores (CS) of all three modes.
So dear do not get confused and stressed firstly passed and clear your 12th with good marks or percentage along with that also be prepare for the IPMAT exam as you want to join it.
But without clearing your 12th you can not go for any of Undergraduate (ug) or post graduate (PG) or any integrated course.
