To answer your query I would like to say that yes,the GK portion in CMAT has a significant weightage and will be an important factor in determining your overall percentile. But there are somethings that you should know about the GK portion of CMAT:

• CMAT conducting authority gives equal weightage to this section whereas  XAT has relatively less significance and is considered only for the admission in XLRI.
• These are easy to solve and does not require much thinking time. Either you know or you don’t. It improves your accuracy parameters also. The answers will be distinct and there will be no room for confusion.

Now the GK portion will be divided into static GK and current GK. The mix between the questions belonging to one of these sections will depend on year after year.  I am giving you the static vs current GK break up for 2 years:

So in total there will be 25 questions and this total remains constant throughout every year. The marking pattern is +4 for every correct answer and -1 for every wrong answer.

An unanswered question carries neither negative marking nor positive marking. If you have left any question unanswered, it doesn't get any negative points. And it also doesn't get positive marks either. In other words, unanswered questions have no impact on your score card.

Once you are shortlisted you will have to appear for CMAT 2020 selection procedure. There are two specific rounds under CMAT selection procedure 2020, which are group discussion and personal interview.

Group Discussion: You will have to appear for the group discussion round for the respective participating institute that you have applied for. You also need to submit your CMAT 2020 exam score to the respective B-school where you have already applied or plan to apply now.

Personal Interview or wrotten ability test: Once you Pass the GD round, you will have a personal Interview.

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the above tests. You will be notified about your admission through email of call letter.

NIA PUNE is a good college but it will narrow your opportunity range since this college main focus is on insurance sector so if you you want to pursue a career in insurance sector than you should go for it, Placement and faculty of this college is good, CMAT percentile previous year in this college for general category was 85 percentile relaxation of percentile is there for other categories depending upon the reservation.

It will not give you a call until you touch their cutoff percentile, I know it is painful for you but it is reality, However you may get a call from its branch colleges like XIME KOCHI and XIME CHENNAI which might give you a call in percentile less than the percentile of XIME BANGALORE, But these colleges are not that good as XIME BANGALORE.
