As far as IIMs are concerned, CAT cutoff is announced category-wise (General/SC/ST/NC-OBC/PwD). Engineer or non-engineer has nothing to do with the cutoff. But, being a little practical, i would suggest you to keep other options open . The candidates selected in IIMs or FMS have a good profile which may prove to be negative
