Common Admission Test
Hello,
If you want to do MBA at top IIM campus then you have to get 95 or above percentile. IIM focuses on all score especially graduation score. Minimum percentage for eligibility is 50% for general category.
Apart from IIM, you can also choose better option like top private institute or government college who provides MBA course. for admission into government college or university, percentile above 80 is required. for private institute , percentile above 60-65 will do.
Prepare for government college if you find that IIM is difficult for you. go for new IIM campus or low ranked IIM campus. aim for them. practice to crack exam with good score.
Hope it helps!
Hello Aspirant
It's really good to know that you are looking for MBA domain.
It's one of the best domain available in Indian corporate sector.
If I look at your profile then it's really good, as you are a qualified CA and having 3 years of experience too, it'll add a lot of value to your profile in interviews for top B-Schools.
But for getting calls for interview from top B-Schools like IIM A,B,C or FMS or any other top 10 colleges, you need atleast 99 percentile in CAT.
As you are From non engeneering background, it'll help you in getting calls from top B-Schools, try to score above 99 percentile and it'll assure you a IIM call.
If I talk about prepration then yes, if you are confident and serious enough for cat then you can left your job and prepare for CAT but remember one thing persons having experience more than 3 years are having negative impact while getting calls so try to clear cat this time itself.
Hope this information is helpful for you.
All the best

Vicky, CAT is the entrance examination for admission to all the 20 IIMs and over 1000 participating Institutions for their Management programmes. To be eligible for CAT, you should have completed your Graduation in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50%. It is 50% for General Category and 45% for Reserved Categories. Now if you belong to General Category, unfortunately you do not qualify for CAT. Regarding CET, ever State has its own CET and so please do help us with the State you belong to.
You definitely have a good chance of getting IIMs. Your 10, 12 scores are remarkable and a pretty decent graduation score. You can get an IIM of your choice with a minimum 90 percentile in CAT. Please refer here for last year cutoffs:
https://bschool.careers360.com/articles/cat-cutoff
And being in 2nd year is a bliss since yo can start preparing early. You can focus on your weak areas for almost a year before start giving mock tests.
I would suggest practicing DI LR questions and Reading Comprehension passages.

Hello Aspirant,
Please specify your caste for more better answer if you are talking about FMS DELHI than for a general category 99+ or in some case 99.5+ is the cutoff for an OBC candidate 95+ is a safe score and for a SC candidate 80+ is a safe score, FMS Delhi sees cat score more importantly than your profile so you have to work hard for FMS DELHI other than this they also give more impornce to RC and Verbal section.
For FMS BHU general cutoff is 83 percentile for getting a call for GD and PI in previous year.
I hope the above information is beneficial for you.
All the best.
