Hey Neha!

Since you’ve got a BSc in MPCS (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science) and a postgraduate degree in Physics with a specialization from 2017, you’ve got a lot of exciting paths ahead of you, depending on what you want to do. If research or teaching sparks your interest, you might want to think about going for a PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, or Computational Science. There are also plenty of teaching opportunities out there at schools, colleges, or coaching institutes, especially if you pick up some relevant teaching certifications.

On the flip side, with your solid background in computer science and physics, you’re well-suited for roles in data analysis, scientific computing, software development, or even as a research assistant in labs and research institutions. Picking up certifications in programming languages, data science, or simulation software could really boost your profile. Depending on whether you lean more towards academia or the industry, you might also want to check out government research organizations like CSIR, DRDO, ISRO, or dive into private companies in IT and scientific research. Figuring out your next step based on whether you want to stick with research, teaching, or jump into the industry will definitely help you find the right direction!

BVoc Banking is a vocational course and not all DU colleges follow the same syllabus. Most students get their first investment banking internship during their college years, often in the second or third year. The process usually begins with campus placements or by applying directly on company websites.

Here’s how it typically happens:

First, they build a strong resume. This includes good academic scores, knowledge of finance, Excel, and maybe some certifications like CFA Level 1, Financial Modeling, or NISM.

They apply for internships through their college placement cell, LinkedIn, company career pages, or websites like Internshala and Naukri.

Many also network with seniors or alumni who work in finance. They reach out through LinkedIn and ask for referrals or advice.

They prepare for interviews by learning basic finance topics like accounting, valuation, financial statements, and recent market news. Mock interviews and good communication skills help a lot.

Sometimes, students start with small finance internships, like in equity research, audit, or a startup. This helps them build experience before moving into investment banking.

Hi Arvind,

Both IIM Jammu and NIBM Pune are excellent for the MBA. One thing is that IIM Jammu carries it's own prestigious reputation of being an IIM where as the NIBM Pune has strong connections when it comes to banking and finance sector and the placements are also well praised for NIBM.

To keep everything simple I would suggest NIBM Pune as it offers better placements and importantly it's proximity to your home city Mumbai.

All the best!
