IIFT 2023 Analysis by BullsEye - The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has made a significant change in its admission process for the academic year 2023-24. IIFT will accept the scores of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023 for admission to its MBA (International Business) and MBA (Business Analytics) programmes. Candidates who apply for these programmes at IIFT will be shortlisted based on their CAT 2023 score. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the next rounds of selection, which consist of Written Ability Test (WAT), Extempore and Personal Interview (PI). The final selection will be made by considering the performance of candidates in all these rounds, along with their CAT score. The CAT 2023 registration started on August 2, 2023 and will last until September 13, 2023. The CAT exam will be conducted by IIM Lucknow on November 26, 2023.

The expected overall score at which one could expect a call from IIFT was around 115-125 marks. Remember, you need to clear the individual sectional cut-offs as well. However, the cutoffs are calculated keeping in mind that the format of the paper has been changed to computer-based.

Evaluation- QA section was slightly difficult and questions were comparatively lengthier than the previous year. Overall the QA section was dominated by Geometry, Arithmetic, and Mensuration. Geometry and Mensuration included questions on Height and Distance, Triangles, etc. In the Arithmetic section questions on pipes and cistern, percentages and partnership were easy. Questions on probability were also easy. Questions on the Venn diagram and clock were moderate. So overall this section was difficult as it had only a few direct questions.

Section II: Reading Comprehension & Verbal Ability

Evaluation- In this section DI questions were difficult and calculation intensive. Except for the table-based graphs, the rests were very difficult. The selection of blocks was very important. In LR games block was time-consuming and had twisted information. Single questions in LR were manageable and must do along with the workers set.

Section IV: General Awareness

Evaluation- The General Awareness (GA) section had questions from various topics and tested the candidate across all areas. The section was a mixed bag with static and current GK. The General Knowledge was moderate to difficult. The expected attempt will low.

But if you are from general category i would advise you kindly prepare for your pi very sincerely because that's the eliminating round where maximum candidates suffer rejection. Even high percentile scorers suffer rejection.

Yes you are eligible for IIFT in terms of education qualification and need to meet other eligibility criteria. Eligibility criteria that candidates must have minimum 50 percentage (45 percentage for reservation category candidates) in Graduation from a recognised College or University.

Students must have been resident outside India, for a period of not less than 18 months as on 31 st December, 2021 & should be outside India during IIFT exam.

Alao they are requested to submit a certificate from the Indian Embassy or High Commission.
