Q. Is the Industry work different from what you learnt at Thakur Global Business School?
Ans: I would say what we learn in the institute is an important prequel to what we do in the corporate world. In college, we get all theoretical knowledge and the best possible professional/ practical exposure via live projects, Industrial visits, Guest lectures, Training & Certifications and seminars. And, professionally when we are on job profile implementation, this knowledge & exposure becomes critical.
Q. How do you think your time in TGBS Mumbai has added value to your life, both professional and personal?
Ans: College memories can never be forgotten simply because it gives you much more than one can think of both professionally as well as personally. This phase of anyone’s life is practically the last phase academically unless one opts for studying abroad or for PhD which means the last opportunity to enjoy life without being under cloud of work pressure and professionally because this acts as a launch pad for budding corporates to sharpen their skills which will help them in near future.
Q. What was your initial thought process when you joined TGBS Mumbai?
Ans: To learn and get exposure to the corporate world from a knowledge point of view. To be Industry-ready in terms of technical know-how and domain knowledge.
Q. You must have spent a memorable time at TGBS. Do you miss being a part of it? Share a few good memories.
Ans: I had one of my best college life while being in the institute. In terms of memories I had many excellent memories but nothing can beat the ‘Best Student’ award which I got in 2014 which I don’t think has been given to any student priority. Also, the ‘General Excellence Award’ for being 2nd topper in the institute was another great memory to sign off with.

Q. Briefly take us through your life at the TGBS Mumbai campus, the activities you used to do and your routine life.
Ans: I used to be regular in terms of attending lectures specifically on Finance and Law as being from an Engineering background I was never exposed to Accounts and Law. Wanted to ensure I understood all the concepts in the classroom itself which will help in my development. I used to participate in Inter and Intra College festivals to get exposure to the outside world. Took an active part in placement cell activities to know the kind of companies which would come for placement. Was E-Leader for EDC cell attended 2-day Tie summit as well where got opportunity to meet industry leaders like Ronnie Screwvala, Harsh Mariwala and many more. Kept myself busy with other activities in the institute such as being an Emcee for seminars and presentations which helped in build confidence in public speaking.
Q. Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in and how did it enrich your life?
Ans: I am extremely active in sports especially outdoor sports like Cricket and Football which keeps me physically fit and motivated to fight till the last opportunity. Apart from this I also participate in various College events (Inter as well as Intra) which give you exposure to different thought processes and test your adaptability which is extremely important once we start our professional journey.

Q. How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements and what was the role of TGBS in it?
Ans: Guest Lectures, Seminars and Alumni sessions helped us to have first-hand knowledge of the industry which was organised by the college. Also Visiting faculties played an important role in imparting information on industrial trends. Last but not least which we do not like but the reality is reading Business Newspaper. We made sure that at least thrice a week we would read ET and discuss it amongst ourselves to stay updated which helped us a lot.
Q. You are a proud alumnus of Thakur Global Business School. What is the best part of TGBS from a student's perspective?
Ans: Faculty is core for any institute and we were lucky to have I would say best of the faculties both internal as well as Visiting. Second, I would say the industry exposure which students get helps them in their future professional growth if they take advantage of this in a proper way which will also enhance their placement possibilities.

Q. What is your suggestion/ guidance for PGDM aspirants?
Ans: My suggestions would be to be mentally aligned and disciplined in whatever specialisation you choose to pursue. They should know the pros and cons of the specialisation which they want to opt for, what kind of companies come for placement in the institute, and current industry trends which will help them in decision-making. They should be conceptually very strong which will help them when they are in the corporate world as this will be the last opportunity for them to learn and get industry-ready.
