Careers360: Tell us something about the admission process.
Mr. Ritesh Goyal: GIBS Bangalore admission process is very transparent and designed methodologically so that every talent gets the right opportunity for management education.
Any student having a Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3 or 4) with a minimum 50% marks in any discipline from universities/institutions recognized by AICTE/UGC/AIU can apply for a PGDM course. Candidates can apply based on CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, MAT, ATMA, State CET tests, and NMAT by GMAC where applicable and as per AICTE guidelines.
After the application is found correct, an applicant has to go through a standard group discussion and interview. A personal interview is one such phase in which we attempt to understand the students' potential. Also, we try to see their hidden talent and positive attitude. After this process, which is done under the supervision of experts, it is easy for us to choose the right candidate. Applicants chosen in this way do better in school and become better business leaders in the long run.
Careers360: What kind of infrastructure can students expect at the institute? Please elaborate.
Mr. Ritesh Goyal: A good infrastructure gives the necessary support to education so that students move forward on the path of holistic development in the right environment. GIBS’ campus has state-of-the-art facilities with a rich and modern infrastructure. In terms of infrastructure, equipment, and contemporary facilities, the campus complies with all governing body requirements. The campus is designed to create an ideal, pollution-free learning environment that is also conveniently accessible.

Careers360: There is a lot of stress that is being put on with regard to interaction with the industry as well as companies that recruit. What are the steps being taken by the institute in this direction?
Mr. Ritesh Goyal: Mindset is the key to victory. And, GIBS truly believes this. That is why GIBS constantly strives for it. From the very beginning, GIBS provides its students with an environment that moulds their thinking in a positive direction. Students are exposed to on-campus and off-campus activities that help in their holistic personal development.
Seventy percent of GIBS’ teaching method is experiential. Students have to work directly under the guidance of industry experts. Due to this, along with regular industrial visits and association with global alumni, students are already prepared for the industry.

Careers360: Please share statistics about placements, including the average salary, the highest and lowest salaries, the number of students who were placed, and information about the companies that hired them.
Mr. Ritesh Goyal: GIBS has always felt that the institute’s principal purpose should be to groom its trainees into future business leaders. GIBS has emerged as one of the most successful B-schools and has set a record by providing 100% placement over the years.
During its recent campus recruiting campaign, more than 160 recruiters participated and offered attractive packages to prospective candidates. The Highest Salary Package was ₹15.5 Lacs p.a., whereas Average Salary Package was ₹7.4 Lacs p.a.
