About: Indus Business Academy (IBA), Bangalore is one of the top MBA colleges in Bengaluru. IBA, Bangalore under the aegis of the Arihant Education and Research Foundation, is making a substantial contribution to the enhancement of management education, through a business-relevant curriculum, experienced and knowledgeable faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and a committed Academic Advisory Council.
IBA Bangalore courses offered include PGDM. Candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria and appear for CAT/ CMAT/ XAT/ MAT/ ATMA/ GMAT/ GRE/ GATE/ other state government examinations for Indus Business Academy Bangalore admissions.
Q. Tell us something about yourself.
A: Hello everyone! I am Sayantan Banerjee. I am from Chandannagar, West Bengal.
Q. Presently, which course are you pursuing at IBA and in which year are you?
A: I am a second-year student at Indus Business Academy, Bangalore and I am pursuing my PGDM with specialisations in marketing and HR.
Q. Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the Indus Business Academy?
A: Yes, I would be honest it was difficult leaving my home and settling in a hostel all by myself. It was a very new experience for me, so a lot of challenges came to me. The primary challenge was getting accustomed to the new environment
Q. What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs, etc for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?
A: Indus Business Academy Bangalore offers many activities. The best thing I found about being here is the kind of responsibilities one gets during the tenure of two years. Everything is managed by the students only, which again gives a lot of experience and learning.
There are different clubs and committees. Where each club represents the specialisations and fields such as Club ‘Spandan’ for HR, Club ‘Barcodes’ for Retail, Club ‘Hunters’ for Marketing, and more. Almost each & every festival is celebrated here, as we have students from 26+ states. I have been the part of IBA Bangalore placement committee.
Q. Describe a typical day at IBA Bangalore – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?
A: The day starts with breakfast at Santripti, and then I head to the CR block for classes. During the lunch break, we sit down, chill, and relax at our hostel, and then again, we head back to classes. Post classes, we go out of campus to refresh ourselves. Some of us play table tennis and volleyball. Following that, life at IBA Bangalore begins with club and committee sessions that include quizzes, debates, sessions for clearing up doubts, interview preparation, cultural activities, and sports.
In addition, there are academic assignments that must be turned in on time, but they must also be completed after 6 o'clock, which must be handled appropriately. At night, we have a news reading session, which helps us understand the current affairs happening around the globe. We need to be back at our respective hostels by 11:30 pm sharp. The typical day ends here, however, the night is still left during which we complete all our pending tasks and then go to bed, accordingly.
Q. Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.
A: The Teacher-Student relationship is very good here at IBA Bangalore. Teachers at Indus Business Academy Bangalore are very polite and helpful. They bring a wealth of expertise to the campus and enlighten us everyday.
Q. What facilities do you have at IBA? What do you like the most that you feel is unique and differentiating?
A: Like all other colleges, IBA offers us all the facilities to us, we have a gym, basketball court, table tennis room, laundry, hostels, etc. Apart from a library, we have a 3-D Centre (common room for boys and girls), where we can do our group assignments with the approach of discussions, dialogues, and discourse. The greenery of IBA makes it different from the other colleges.
Q. How comfortable are your hostels, and how about the cleanliness factor over there?
A: For the boy's hostel, I can say the rooms are clean and the hygiene is maintained regularly.
Q. What about the medical facilities at IBA? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?
A: A doctor visits the campus three days a week. In case of any emergency, we can avail requisite medical attention immediately. Indus Business Academy, Bangalore also provides the required aids and a vehicle with a driver to reach the nearby hospital.
Also See: IBA Bangalore facilities
Q. How do you balance your studies, projects, exams, and other activities?
A: IBA teaches you how to multitask; to be honest, the rigorous curriculum is something that forces us to learn how to balance all these. We sometimes extend until 2:00-3:00 am to finish our work
Q. Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students' point of view.
A: Clubs are based on specialisations and they arrange guest lectures for the students, which are very insightful and help the students learn how to deal with the real-life situations that they might face in the corporate world.
Committees take care of different areas, like cultural, placements, CSR, newsletters, mess, and also the library. All these committees work together in harmony and groom the students.
Q. Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?
A: Yes, there is an In-house magazine named “UDGHOSH”. The Newsletter Committee is responsible for bringing up the latest happenings and events taking place in IBA Bangalore in UDGHOSH, which is released quarterly. Apart from the Newsletter Committee, each Club has its own magazine which covers the events of the Club itself, such as, ‘Gondola’ by Club Barcodes, etc.
Q. What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?
A: The popular hangout for me is the table tennis room. Nearby, we have Art of Living Ashram & MTR, Third Wave Coffee, and Forum Mall. These are some of the most-visited places nearby IBA.
Q. How do you spend your leisure time at IBA Bangalore?
A: I hang out with my friends, play Table tennis and watch Web series during my leisure time
Q. Does your campus have a Facebook page where students post jokes, opinions, and other content? Or perhaps a blog where they discuss their experiences living on campus?
A: IBA has a page on all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube as well.
Q. What type of companies come for campus recruitment, and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?
A: IBA attracts diverse companies for campus recruitment. 95-98% of students get placed annually. Recruitment involves talks, resume submission, selection rounds, and job offers.
