Careers360: Tell us something about the admission process?

Dr. Subhash Kakkar: Admissions to the FOSTIIMA two-year full time PGDM Program that commences in the month of June every year are carried out through a structures process. The institution considers several factors:

  • The applicant’s academic performance during graduation and at school

  • Scores in the CAT/XAT/CMAT exams

  • Performances in the Group Discussions and Personal Interviews

The short-listing and selection criteria represent a weighted average of the applicant’s overall performance. Cutoff levels to qualify for admission calls would probably be above 50% marks in the graduation and a CAT or XAT score above the 60th percentile.

Careers360: What kind of infrastructure can students expect at the institute? Please elaborate?

Dr. Subhash Kakkar: We have projectors in every class and completely centralised air-conditioned classrooms. Wi-Fi is established throughout our campus. Corporate Resource Center is the term of a unique placement cell we have. We have a pool table and table tennis for the use of the students during their free time. We offer students access to a library with a large collection of books about the subject and the business. There are also a variety of magazines and newspapers in the library. Our canteen offers a variety of cuisines to the students.

Careers360: Internships are now mandatory as per AICTE guidelines. Does the institute help students with this? If yes, how?

Dr. Subhash Kakkar: The institute does indeed assist students in finding internships. Numerous companies visit the campus to offer internships. BigBasket, Aditya Birla Group, Bajaj Capital, ICICI Bank, and many others.

Careers360: Can you please share details if there is any collaboration with universities abroad?

Dr. Subhash Kakkar: We organize international trips for the students, taking them to different universities and companies to educate them about the industries and the working cultures. The knowledge they gain about the working world and cultural contrasts prepares them for employment overseas.

Careers360: Please share placement statistics with information on the average package, highest and lowest package, number of students placed and details of companies that have recruited.

Dr. Subhash Kakkar: If I talk about the placement statistics.

Average package – 9.25 Lpa

Questions related to FOSTIIMA Business School, Delhi

Have a question related to FOSTIIMA Business School, Delhi ?

Dear Aspirant,

Comparing colleges is always a tricky affair and we can only go by general guidelines and since both don’t figure in the National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF), we will not be able to qualify one is better than the other.

When looking at the syllabus of each in the MBA Finance programs, it is very obvious that Chitkara’s Finance syllabus is much more progressive in terms of industry requirements of today and in your second year you can actually opt for specialization in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance & Wealth Management.  While Fostiima’s program covers a wide range of topics and tends to give you a look and feel of a company’s operative elements including finance.  Since they have subjects like HR & Marketing etc. Another point is Chitkara has 8 semesters in comparison to Fostiima’s 6 semesters, which means the intensity is much higher in Chitkara from a program point of view.

We suggest you take a very close look at both the syllabus and compare it with what we have said and then take a decision. Don’t forget this is your first management decision.

Good Luck
