The B-school has acquired a commendable position as one of the premier business management institutes of the country. We offer a wide range of postgraduate programs namely, PGDM, PGDM-International Business, PGDM-Retail Management that is approved by the AICTE, accredited by the NBA, and also have been granted equivalent to an MBA degree by AIU.

Careers360: Tell us something about the admission process?

Dr. Pooja Jain: JIMS Rohini offers three postgraduate programs: PGDM, PGDM (International Business), and PGDM (Retail Management). Our dedicated admission team ensures a transparent and smooth transition of the aspirants to the PGDM program. The admission criteria stipulate four parameters on the basis of which candidates are shortlisted which are as follows:

• Entrance Test - 40%

• Performance in Qualifying Exams (CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, IIFT, GMAT, CMAT) - 20%

• Personal Interview - 25%

• Group Discussion - 15%

Admission to GGSIPU affiliated programs namely MCA, BBA, BCA, B.A. (Hons) Eco is done on the basis of centralized counseling conducted by GGSIP University.

The Library is the backbone of academic and research activities at JIMS. It is designed to meet the information needs of the JIMS fraternity, i.e., students, faculty, and staff members. To support high-quality teaching, learning, and research, the library has full-text access to thousands of e-books, international journals, and online databases of repute. The library is well equipped with the latest IT tools and equipment to collect, store, retrieve, and disseminate information.

State-of-the-art Auditorium and Conference Hall

The state-of-the-art auditorium provides a center stage with state-of-the-art audio/video facilities for conducting guest lectures, speaker sessions, events, and batch-meets with a sitting capacity for the whole batch. It serves as a commonplace where a plethora of activities, initiatives are conducted and organized within the campus.

Well-equipped Computer Centre

The Computer Centre is continuously upgraded keeping in view the fast-paced changes in IT. The facilities include world-class servers, Wi-Fi enabled campus, and a wide range of hardware and software which facilitate an effective model of learning.

Learning Management Software

JIMS has designed the Learning management software for students which enables them to access their subject content, link classes, submit assignments, and access other necessary data or information without the risk of losing it.

E-Resources

JIMS has also adopted concrete steps to impart education by making the best use of e-resources. Classrooms have been equipped with the latest technologies, high-speed data access, and other facilities. Access to online library facilities like E-books, Journals, etc are also provided to students.

Interactive Classrooms

All classrooms at JIMS are spacious and air-conditioned. They provide the most conducive atmosphere for dynamic and focused discussions. Classrooms at JIMS have been designed to bring together analysis with action and are augmented with integrated audio-visual teaching aids for lectures, presentations, etc. which set the tone for students to engage in stimulating discussions.

Comfortable and Secure Hostel Accommodation

The institute provides a well-furnished hostel facility separate for boys & girls. The aim of the hostel is to make it a home away from home. Apart from the infrastructural soundness, it provides sufficient scope for interaction and relationship-building. These interactions play an important role in a student’s life, especially during placements and examinations.

Hygienic Canteen

Learning is enhanced over a cup of coffee. At JIMS, the cafeteria is one of the important places where students meet to debate, discuss and deliberate on contemporary topics. There are multiple food outlets inside the premises to ensure that students have access to healthy food options.

Careers360: There is a lot of stress that is being made with regard to interaction with the industry as well as companies that recruit. What are the steps being taken by the institute in this direction?

Dr. Pooja Jain: At JIMS we endeavor to work closely with the leaders from prominent Indian and transnational corporations. Our constant engagement with the industry leaders opens an array of opportunities for the PGDM students willing to join esteemed brands after the completion of the course. The frequent interactions on contemporary issues of global and national importance enable students and faculty to stay abreast with the current practices being adopted by the functional department of the corporations.

We have also ventured into extensive consultation with leading corporate leaders to upgrade PGDM Curriculum. This practice has provided us the impetus to incorporate relevant inputs to meet the industry requirement, and groom the analytical and theoretical skills of the students. At JIMS, the learned faculty encourages students to undertake industry projects, presentations, case studies, research work, and work as trainees to gain practical experience in an industrial working environment.

Special initiatives such as Pre-placement Training, live projects, Conferences, and Seminars are conducted frequently to expose students to the realities of the corporate world. We have revamped our research endeavors to align it with the dynamic needs of the business and the industry expectations. Currently, we are actively participating with our clients in the consultancy assignments and designing training programs and workshops to assist hiccups that come in the way of business operations.

Careers360: Internships are now mandatory as per AICTE guidelines. Does the institute help students with this? If yes, how?

Dr. Pooja Jain: Considering the pedagogy, we follow at JIMS, we engage and empower the students by allowing them to discuss, debate, and solve real business challenges through Outbound Experiential Learning that comprise Field/Live Projects, Industry Research Project, Social Sensitization Projects among other activities that are a part of the PGDM curriculum.

We have widened the scope of the Summer Internship covering national and international companies. The 6-8 weeks internship program is designed to give a reality check before they enter the actual corporate world.

Dr. Pooja Jain: We take pride in sharing that JIMS has to its merit several academic alliances with reputed universities and institutions worldwide extending international visibility from which students benefit immensely in order to gain global exposure.

Our Alliances include Auckland Institute of Studies (New Zealand), Malaysian University of Science and Technology (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), Lincoln University College (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), Nilai University (Malaysia), University of Sunderland (U.K), and Help University (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

Through these alliances, we collaborate to foster a mutually beneficial relation focused on the Faculty Exchange program, Student’s Study Tours, and joint hosting of International Conferences.

Careers360: Please share placement statistics with information on the average package, highest and lowest package, number of students placed, and details of companies that have recruited.

Dr. Pooja Jain: Securing a good job offer during the PGDM program is one of the primary goals of students. Our placement drives are the forerunners and core activity of the PGDM program. The placement team at JIMS Rohini continually engages with the industry professionals to conduct guest lectures, seminars, MDPs, live projects, mentoring sessions among other crucial activities to align the students with the best industry practices.
