Careers360: Presently which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?

Pranshul Mittal: I am currently pursuing the PGDM Core program, specializing in management fundamentals, and I’m in my first year. The curriculum so far has been a great mix of theoretical knowledge and practical learning experiences.

Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

Pranshul Mittal: No, not at all. From the very beginning, the transition felt smooth, thanks to the warm and welcoming environment created by the faculty and seniors. The teachers made a special effort to help us settle in, explaining the curriculum clearly and being approachable for any doubts or queries. Seniors also played a key role, guiding us through the processes, sharing their experiences, and organizing orientation programs and ice-breaking activities to help us bond with classmates. The institute provided ample support, both academically and socially, making it easy to adapt to the new environment. This helped us quickly feel comfortable and motivated to immerse ourselves in the coursework, clubs, and other campus activities.

Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?

Pranshul Mittal: Our institute offers a range of extracurricular clubs, such as Marquest for marketing enthusiasts, Investofin for finance, and Samanvay for HR, among others. These clubs regularly organize events, workshops, and competitions to enhance our skills beyond academics. I'm currently active in a few of these clubs, which has been a great way to connect with peers and learn practically.

Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

Pranshul Mittal: A typical day at our institute starts with waking up and getting ready for the lectures, which begins at 9:30 AM. The academic schedule runs until 5:00 PM, with several half-hour breaks between classes. During these breaks, we often head to the Nescafé or the canteen to relax, grab a snack, or catch up with friends.

Once the lectures are over, the focus shifts to other academic and personal activities. Many of us head to the library to study, catch up on assignments, or dive deeper into subjects of interest. Others spend time working on college projects, collaborating with teammates to meet deadlines.

Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.

Pranshul Mittal: The faculty-student ratio at our institute ensures personalized attention, fostering a supportive learning environment. Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?

Pranshul Mittal: The hostels offer a comfortable environment with all necessary facilities for a smooth stay. The hygiene is excellent, with housekeeping teams ensuring cleanliness is maintained regularly, creating a pleasant and well-kept living space for students.

Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?

Pranshul Mittal: I balance studies, projects, exams, and other activities by following a schedule, prioritizing tasks, and breaking them into smaller goals. I use breaks and free time efficiently, work on projects gradually, and start exam preparation early to avoid last-minute stress. Staying organized helps me manage everything smoothly.

Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students point of view?

Pranshul Mittal: Our campus offers a variety of clubs and societies, such as cultural, technical, sports, literary, and social service clubs. These play a significant role in student life by fostering creativity, leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. They provide a break from academics, help students explore their interests, and build valuable skills for the future. Additionally, they create a sense of community, making college life more engaging and enjoyable.

Hello,

No. Once you are allotted a seat in the spot round and accept it, your previous seat is automatically cancelled. You cannot retain the JIMS Vasant Kunj seat after getting a new allotment in Maharaja Agrasen Institute in spot round.

Hope it helps !

Hello,

Choosing between JIMS Rohini and MAIMS for BBA depends on your career preferences, location convenience, and the type of campus environment you want. Let’s break it down:

  • JIMS Rohini Sector 5 it's Known for its strong industry tie-ups, regular guest lectures from corporate professionals, active placement cell, and a slightly more flexible environment in terms of extracurricular activities. It has a vibrant campus culture with events, fests, and entrepreneurship cells.
  • MAIMS (Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies): Affiliated with GGSIPU, which means the syllabus is set by the university and the academic calendar is strictly followed. MAIMS is more disciplined, with better structured academics, strong internal faculty, and good library and research facilities. It’s well-respected among students who want to pursue further studies.

In terms of placements, both are competitive, but JIMS may have a slight edge in corporate networking, while MAIMS can give you an edge if you aim for academic excellence. Also, factor in travel time—long commutes can affect your overall college experience.

If you are looking for corporate exposure and networking, JIMS is the pick. If you want a more academic-focused, structured environment, MAIMS might suit you better.

Thanks, and all the best for your BBA journey.

Hello

The timings of BBA Shift 2 in MAIMS is almost same as the timings of Shift 1. There is not much difference maybe the difference could be of half an hour or one hour at max. It depends upon batch to batch and year to year.

Same is probably the case for JIMS Rohini

Hope this answer helps! Thank You

Hi dear candidate,

The Jagan Institute of Management Studies or JIMS Rohini is a private institute that is affiliated to I.P University and is often counted as one of the top colleges for BBA studies after SSCBS Rohini or VIPS Pitampura.

The college has got decent campus life, good studies and excellent connectivity with metro just few steps away.

One of my friend also studies there and their review is positive so far.
