Meet Gujneet Thukral

Gunjeet Thukral, one such stellar alumni from JIMS Rohini Sec-5, is currently excelling in the domain of Sales and Marketing since 22 years. Mr. Thukral is an alumni from the batch of 1998 and had been actively engaged in JIMS cultural clubs. Currently, he is an integral part of the JIMS Alumni association and is actively involved in nurturing the young minds at the institute.

His Versatile Corporate Journey

Presently he is associated with TAFE MOTORS AND TRACTORS LIMITED at the designation of Deputy GM Area of Operation wherein he is responsible for Asia pacific export sales . He has garnered extensive experience in the areas of Channel Management and Business Development in Capital Goods Domain. His prior commitments were with well-known industry brands such as Kobelco Compressors India (Kobe Steel Group Co.), ELGI Equipments Limited, Cummins India Ltd where he administered sales of wide range of Medium/High Horse Power Engines for the Construction Segment, and Usha Shriram India. Throughout his career, he has managed the sales and marketing operations of several organisations. He has even earned Black Belt certification in Six Sigma Training.

Words of Wisdom from Gunjeet Thukral

Even today, Gunjeet Thukral expresses his gratitude towards the faculty of JIMS Rohini who have churned out the best of him. He shared that “ I am thankful for my decision to pursue the Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PDGM) in from JIMS Rohini Sec-5. As an integral part of the alumni association, I am certain that the quality of PGDM programme at the institute is excellent and combined with a robust curriculum, it prepares candidates for the competitive business world.”

Mr. Thukral was an active member of several academic and cultural clubs. He not only participated in the events but was a key member in organising various workshops and cultural programs. He shares that “the institute has various in-house clubs such as marketing club, finance club, sports club, drama club to name a few where students get an opportunity for holistic development beyond the classroom wisdom.”

If it wasn’t a mix of both theoretical and practical exposure then acquiring immense knowledge of the domain of management was not possible. Apart from the classroom lectures, he was intrigued by the case-study sessions which gave panoramic view of the real-life corporate incidents. As a part of outbound experiential learning programs, industry visits, symposiums (in collaboration with FIEO, MSME, ASSOCHAM), conferences with industry practitioners, industry-linked on-the-job training programs, community development projects, and mandatory 6-8 weeks summer internship which had helped Mr. Thukral gain a wider perspective of the corporate world.

In addition to the excellent pedagogy, the institute also has an in-house placement cell. He believes that “it was the continuous effort of the placement committee and the on-campus placement drives, that helped him land a meaningful job profile job with a desirable salary package.” When asked about his placement experience, he shared that “JIMS Rohini has a tradition of preparing students with warm-up sessions to boost the confidence and morale before they sit for the selection.” Currently, the institute has a track record of inviting more than 300+ corporate brands every year for both on-campus placement drive and virtual campus placements.

As a member of Alumni Group

Since its inception, the institute has garnered healthy and long-term relations with the alumni. Mr. Thukral shared that “alumni interactions were always the first point of contact for the students into the corporate life. When alumni shared their experience of corporate life, it gave us an edge to work harder and shape a perspective that will be required to settle in the industry”. At present, JIMS Rohini Sec-5 holds an alumni base of 5000+ students who extend support to the institute in shaping the generation of leaders. Alumni like Gunjeet Thukral are real prized possession of a B-school. He also shared that“The faculties at JIMS Rohini Sec-5 are not just our instructors but our career mentors who paved the road for our bright future. I am glad that during my tenure at JIMS they extended placement assistance from day 1 and enabled our transition during summer placements to final placements.”

He has attended annual Alumni Meet events organised by the institute where he got the opportunity to unwind and share his journey. He has also been part of the Coffee Sessions that are often organised for alumni spread across in several states of India and globally.

In a Nutshell

As an alumni of JIMS Rohini I would like to conclude by saying that “it feels incredibly proud to witness my fellow alumni members soar heights in their career. Undeniably, JIMS Rohini has nurtured a strong alumni network since 1993. My journey might inspire a few future management aspirants. However, I believe that one should never give-up on their dreams and push harder to turn their enterprising ideas into reality. Because only if you dare to tap the plethora of opportunities and narrow down what is best for your career, the road to success won’t be long.”

Hello,

No. Once you are allotted a seat in the spot round and accept it, your previous seat is automatically cancelled. You cannot retain the JIMS Vasant Kunj seat after getting a new allotment in Maharaja Agrasen Institute in spot round.

Hope it helps !

Hello,

Choosing between JIMS Rohini and MAIMS for BBA depends on your career preferences, location convenience, and the type of campus environment you want. Let’s break it down:

  • JIMS Rohini Sector 5 it's Known for its strong industry tie-ups, regular guest lectures from corporate professionals, active placement cell, and a slightly more flexible environment in terms of extracurricular activities. It has a vibrant campus culture with events, fests, and entrepreneurship cells.
  • MAIMS (Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies): Affiliated with GGSIPU, which means the syllabus is set by the university and the academic calendar is strictly followed. MAIMS is more disciplined, with better structured academics, strong internal faculty, and good library and research facilities. It’s well-respected among students who want to pursue further studies.

In terms of placements, both are competitive, but JIMS may have a slight edge in corporate networking, while MAIMS can give you an edge if you aim for academic excellence. Also, factor in travel time—long commutes can affect your overall college experience.

If you are looking for corporate exposure and networking, JIMS is the pick. If you want a more academic-focused, structured environment, MAIMS might suit you better.

Thanks, and all the best for your BBA journey.

Hello

The timings of BBA Shift 2 in MAIMS is almost same as the timings of Shift 1. There is not much difference maybe the difference could be of half an hour or one hour at max. It depends upon batch to batch and year to year.

Same is probably the case for JIMS Rohini

Hope this answer helps! Thank You

Hi dear candidate,

The Jagan Institute of Management Studies or JIMS Rohini is a private institute that is affiliated to I.P University and is often counted as one of the top colleges for BBA studies after SSCBS Rohini or VIPS Pitampura.

The college has got decent campus life, good studies and excellent connectivity with metro just few steps away.

One of my friend also studies there and their review is positive so far.
