Q. Tell us something about JIMS Rohini and the vision and mission of the institute.

Dr. Pooja Jain: JIMS Rohini was established in 1993 and is a leading management institute of the country. This vision is rooted in core values and ethics that include respect for the community, passion for excellence, high ethical standards, and research as a way of life.

Over the years, JIMS Rohini has acquired a commendable position, as one of the premier institutes in India that prepares aspirants for careers in business management. Its portfolio of postgraduate programs includes PGDM, PGDM(International Business), PGDM(Retail Management). The admission criteria at JIMS Rohini stipulates four parameters for shortlisting candidates for all three postgraduate programs - PGDM, PGDM (International Business) and PGDM (Retail Management):

  1. Entrance Test- 40% weightage

  2. Performance in Qualifying Exams (CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, IIFT, GMAT, CMAT) - 20% weightage

  3. Personal Interview-25% weightage

  4. Group Discussion- 15% weightage

Q. What kind of infrastructure can students expect at the institute? Please elaborate?

Q. There is a lot of stress that is being made with regard to interaction with the industry as well as companies that recruit. What are the steps being taken by the institute in this direction?

Dr. Pooja Jain: At JIMS we endeavor to continuously engage with industry leaders and work closely with prominent Indian and transnational corporations. This continuous engagement with the industry leaders opens an array of opportunities for the PGDM students who are interested in working in established brands after the completion of the course. The frequent interactions on contemporary issues of global and national importance also enable students and faculty to stay abreast of the practices being adopted by and required in different functions of corporate businesses. .

We also consult with leading corporations and leaders to upgrade the PGDM curriculum. This helps us to incorporate relevant inputs to meet the industry requirement, and groom the analytical and theoretical skills of the students. At JIMS, the faculty encourages students to undertake industry projects, presentations, case studies, research work and work as trainees to gain practical experience in an industrial working environment.
Special initiatives such as pre-placement training, live-projects, conferences and seminars are conducted regularlyto expose and familiarize students with the realities of the corporate world. We have revamped our research activities to align them with the dynamic needs of the business and the industry. We are also actively participating in consultancy assignments with clients and designing training programs and workshops to resolve and improve business operations.

Q. Internships are now mandatory as per AICTE guidelines. Does the institute help students with this? If yes, how?

Dr. Pooja Jain: JIMS Rohini could be considered a front-runner in this. It not only prepares the students to handle these internships but it also facilitates getting the internships.

The Pedagogy at JIMS focuses on engaging and empowering the students. It allows them to discuss, debate and solve real business challenges through, amongst others, outbound experiential learning and comprises Field/Live Projects, Industry Research Project and Social Sensitization Projects. These supplement the activities that are a part of the PGDM curriculum. The 6-8 weeks internship program is designed to give a reality check before they enter the actual corporate world.

The JIMS hostel aims to provide a homely atmosphere away from home to the students. The rooms are spacious with windows opening to the balcony. Other hostel facilities include a common room and a dining hall. Apart from the solid infrastructure, it provides ample space for interaction and relationship building.

Hope you are doing well.  The total fees for BBA at JIMS Vasant Kunj is Rs. 2.46 lakhs. The highest package offered is Rs. 10 LPA and the average package offered is Rs. 5LPA . Comapnies like Godrej, HT Digital Streams, PlanetSpark , Genesis BCW, Blue Frog Solution Pvt Ltd, Mastree come here to hire students.

The total fees for BBA at IITM Janakpuri  is Rs. 2.7 lakhs. The highest package offered is Rs. 5 LPA and the average package offered is Rs. 3LPA . Comapnies like KPMG, Deloitte, TCS, Wipro, Infosys,  come here to hire students.

I think BBA at JIMS Vasant Kunj is a better option because of the internship and placement assistance provided and the highest salary package offered.
