Careers360: Tell us something about yourself such as from which place are you from?
Vaibhav Prakash: I’m originally from Delhi, where I was born and raised. Recently, I moved to Ghaziabad, where I’m currently living. I completed my BBA from IP University, Delhi, and now I’m pursuing my PGDM at I Business Institute. I’m currently interning at Innoweb Solution as an Online Reputation Management intern. I’ve always been passionate about traveling, attending concerts, and exploring new interests. I enjoy personal and professional growth, striving to balance both in my daily life.
Careers360: Presently which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?
Vaibhav Prakash: I am currently pursuing my Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) at I Business Institute, Greater Noida. I’m in my first year, and it’s been an exciting journey so far.
Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?
Vaibhav Prakash: The first few months were a bit tough, to be honest. The academic workload was much heavier than what I was used to in BBA, and it took some time to adjust to the new routine. Balancing studies with personal life was also a challenge at first. But the orientation program and support from faculty really helped me settle in. Slowly, I figured out how to manage my time better, and now I’m more comfortable with the pace.
Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?
Vaibhav Prakash: At I Business Institute, there are a lot of fun activities, like sports (volleyball, badminton, table tennis) and cultural events such as KHELFIESTA, our annual sports fest. I’m part of the sponsorship committee for KHELFIESTA, and I also participated in the 'Joy of Giving Week' where we visited Ram Lal Old Age Home. I was the coordinator for the freshers' party and also helped organize a marketing activity where students set up stalls to sell food or games and make some money. Plus, I’m a proud winner of a parliamentary debate competition. These experiences have been great for my personal and professional growth.
Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?
Vaibhav Prakash: A typical day for me starts early—I wake up at 5:30 am and begin my day with some exercise to get energized. By around 7 am, I have breakfast, and then I leave for college between 7:30 and 7:45 am, reaching by 9 am. My classes start at 9:30 am and run until 4:45 pm, with a short 15-minute break in between. After classes, I head to my internship at Innoweb Solution, which is conveniently located inside the college. I work from 5 pm to 8 pm and submit my daily report after that. By 8 pm, I head home, with a quick stop to fill up gas for the next day. I reach home between 9:30 and 10 pm, have dinner around 10:30 pm, and finally unwind and sleep between 11 and 11:30 pm. It’s a packed but fulfilling routine that repeats every day!
Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.
Vaibhav Prakash: At I Business Institute, the faculty-student ratio is great, so we get plenty of individual attention. The professors are really qualified and approachable, and they make sure to support us both in our studies and personal growth. The relationship between teachers and students feels more like that of a mentor and mentee, where we can easily approach them for guidance, whether it’s related to coursework or even career advice. They really encourage open communication, which makes it easy to ask questions and seek help whenever we need it.
Careers360: What all facilities do you have in the campus? What do you like here the most which you feel is unique and differentiating?
Vaibhav Prakash: The campus at I Business Institute has a lot of great facilities that make life here more convenient and enjoyable. Every classroom is equipped with Wi-Fi, so we can easily access study materials online. The cafeteria serves a really good variety of food, and there are sports facilities like volleyball, badminton, table tennis, pool, chess, and carrom that we can use whenever we have free time. There’s also a large auditorium for events and a GD room for practice. On top of that, the digital library is super helpful, it gives us access to tons of online resources and study materials.
What I really appreciate and find unique is the 50-day orientation program. It’s not just about academics; we get to go on industrial visits, enjoy trips, and participate in corporate sessions with experienced mentors. It’s a perfect balance of learning and fun. Also, the international trip in the second year is something I’m really looking forward to!
Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?
Vaibhav Prakash: I didn’t opt for the hostels at I Business Institute, but from what I’ve heard from my classmates, they’re quite comfortable. The rooms are spacious, fully air-conditioned, and equipped with facilities like Wi-Fi, comfortable beds, and study areas. Cleanliness is well-maintained, with rooms being cleaned regularly and common areas kept tidy. Overall, from what I’ve gathered, the hostels provide a comfortable, hygienic, and well-equipped living space.
Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?
Vaibhav Prakash: I Business Institute has basic medical facilities available on campus. There’s a medical room with staff who can help in case of any health concerns. If there’s an emergency, the institute has connections with nearby hospitals, so we can get medical attention quickly. It’s reassuring to know that there’s a system in place to ensure we get the help we need when required.
Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?
Vaibhav Prakash: Balancing studies, projects, exams, and other activities can be tough, but I’ve managed to find a rhythm. I start my day early, which helps me stay on top of everything. I make sure to plan my time well, prioritizing tasks so nothing gets missed. For exams, I break down the syllabus and start revising in advance, which makes studying less stressful. I also make room for extracurricular activities, like my internship and involvement in events, by staying organized and flexible with my schedule. By keeping everything balanced and using time management techniques, I’ve learned how to stay productive without getting overwhelmed.
Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students’ point of view?
Vaibhav Prakash: At I Business Institute, there are a variety of clubs and societies that cover everything from sports to culture to academics. These clubs organize events, workshops, and competitions, giving students the chance to develop important skills like leadership, teamwork, and communication. Personally, I think these clubs are really important because they allow students to grow beyond academics and build a more well-rounded personality. They provide opportunities to network, showcase talents, and even take on leadership roles. Plus, they offer a fun break from the busy academic schedule, making the overall college experience more enjoyable and engaging.
Careers360: Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?
Vaibhav Prakash: Yes, I Business Institute has an in-house magazine that keeps students and faculty updated on the latest events, activities, and achievements at the institute. It features articles, interviews, and insights from various clubs, societies, and departments. The magazine serves as a great way to stay informed about everything happening on campus and provides a platform for students to share their experiences and thoughts. It’s a fun and informative read that reflects the dynamic atmosphere of the institute.
Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?
Vaibhav Prakash: At I Business Institute, the cafeteria is a popular hangout spot where students grab a bite and relax. The sports facilities, like the volleyball and badminton courts, are also favorites for unwinding between classes. For fitness, the boys' gym is on the 2nd floor, while the girls have a common room on the same floor to hang out.
Nearby, the Mall of India in Noida is great for shopping, dining, and entertainment, and City Park is a peaceful spot to take a break. These places are perfect for relaxing after a busy day at college.
Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?
Vaibhav Prakash: During my free time on campus, I usually grab a snack at the cafeteria and catch up with friends. If I feel like being more active, I head to the sports area to play badminton or table tennis. Sometimes, I just take a quick walk around campus or relax with a good book. It’s a nice balance of staying active and giving myself a little break before getting back to my work.
Careers360: Do you have any Facebook page of your campus where the students express their views, jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life at campus?
Vaibhav Prakash: Yes, we have a Facebook page where students share their thoughts, experiences, jokes, and ideas. It's a fun way to stay connected and keep up with campus happenings. They’re also really active on Instagram and LinkedIn, where both students and the institute post updates and achievements. Some students even write blogs about their experiences on campus. These platforms make it easy for everyone to stay involved and engaged beyond just schoolwork.
Careers360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?
Vaibhav Prakash: IBI brings in a good mix of companies for placements, ranging from big names in finance, marketing, and IT to fast-growing startups. Companies offer roles in management, sales, analytics, HR, and more, so there are plenty of opportunities. The placement record is strong, with a high percentage of students getting placed each year. The recruitment process usually starts with aptitude tests or group discussions, followed by interviews. Some companies also have case studies or technical rounds, depending on the job role. The placement team is really supportive, helping students with training, mock interviews, and resume-building, making the whole process smoother and more manageable.
