Careers360 got in touch with its Director, Dr. Sangeeta Tandon to know about the institute’s vision, mission, infrastructure, collaboration with universities abroad, placement statistics and more. Careers360: Tell us something about the institute; when it was set up, vision & mission.
Dr. Sangeeta Tandon: Established in 1989, with a mission to redefine the system of education, Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) is a professionally managed, multi-disciplinary and multi-faceted oasis of knowledge. Its premiere educational institutes conduct university accredited and autonomous courses.
Under the Umbrella Of MET League of College in the year 1994 Asian School of management started and our first batch passed out 1996.

Careers360: Tell us something about the admission process?
Dr. Sangeeta Tandon: To qualify, a candidate must pass the eligibility criteria. An above average intelligence coupled with a sense of commitment, honesty and focus is important. A high level of EQ (Emotional Intelligence), in conjunction with an ethical attitude, sportsmanship, team spirit and creativity is strongly preferred.
Careers360: What kind of infrastructure can students expect at the institute? Please elaborate?
Dr. Sangeeta Tandon: MET can boast of its wi-fi enabled state-of-art infrastructure using the latest technology with an adjoining playground, a library with more than 85,000 books and Journals, computer labs, a very hygienic canteen, guest rooms and a music room in the prime location of Bandra, Mumbai. We have adopted world-class teaching standards and our empowered MBA may be rated equivalent to any other two years management program as our curriculum goes beyond the syllabus of bookish knowledge imparted within the four walls of a classroom.
Careers360: There is a lot of stress that is being made with regard to interaction with the industry as well as companies that recruit. What are the steps being taken by the institute in this direction?
Dr. Sangeeta Tandon: The course aims to enhance a participant’s ability to think critically and strategically in seeking solutions to complex problems within a VUCA environment.
we have adapted and adopted the new norm of online system of education and conducted online lecture sessions, placement training sessions, exams, several webinars throughout the year that includes the virtual platforms
International corporate and alumni guest lecture sessions to make students globally updated. Today we can conduct hybrid mode of both online as well as offline sessions to have a global education reach. Recently we have introduced specialization in Business Analytics with our PGP-SBA course. The course aims to enhance a participant’s ability to think critically and strategically in seeking solutions to complex problems within a VUCA environment
Careers360: What role do you think internships play in grooming the students, how does MET help students get the best out of the same?
Dr. Sangeeta Tandon: We have a repository of over 400 recruiters and also a substantial number of start-ups that come to the campus every year. We conduct specially designed professional placement training sessions throughout the year for aptitude testing, logical reasoning and quantitatives. The students are regularly attending communication classes and being groomed to face Group Discussions and Personal Interview sessions. Other personality development workshops on soft skills, e-etiquette, Business etiquette and Leadership Management are conducted to endow them with a wholesome and holistic development
Careers360: Can you please share details if there is any collaboration with universities abroad?
Dr. Sangeeta Tandon: Our Institute has several International tie-ups such as with the CII, London, ACCA, London, MIM, New York etc. MET enjoys a very high level of brand equity in the academic world, having won multiple awards. Currently we are looking ahead for accreditations and more collaboration in various disciplines, both nationally and internationally.
Careers360: Please share placement statistics with information on the average package, highest and lowest package, number of students placed and details of companies that have recruited.
Dr. Sangeeta Tandon: The placement season begins as early as the month of September itself and many students get placed by the end of semester III itself. Almost seventy to eighty percent of students are placed before the end of the last semester. We continue to place students till the month of July/Aug next. The recruiters that come earliest are amongst the top companies in the industry like Deloitte, Crisil, Aranca, Tata Group, WNS, Godrej, Reliance, PWC, etc. and year after year they recruit regularly from our institute. Job profiles offered are Business analyst, financial analyst, relationship managers, Business Development managers, data analyst, marketing managers, etc. Projects are offered by HUL, Colgate, Tata Group, Magnus Developers and others.
Over the last two and half decades, our Institute has held the record of almost 100 per cent placement. Many students are being placed internationally as well.
A career as Marketing Director is also known as a marketing expert who is responsible for the overall marketing aspect of the company. He or she oversees plans and develops the company's budget. A Business Development Executive (BDE) is a professional responsible for identifying growth opportunities and fostering strategic partnerships to enhance a company's market position. He or she plays a crucial role in developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
A BDE often collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing and product development, to align business objectives. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills are essential for success in this role. BDE strives to expand the company's customer base, drive sales, and contribute to overall organisational growth in a dynamic and competitive business environment.
Content Marketing Specialists are also known as Content Specialists. They are responsible for crafting content, editing and developing it to meet the requirements of digital marketing campaigns. To ensure that the material created is consistent with the overall aims of a digital marketing campaign, content marketing specialists work closely with SEO and digital marketing professionals.
A sales manager is a revenue-generating source for a company. Any organisation or company which sells a commodity or service requires sales to generate revenue. A Sales manager is a professional responsible for supervising the sales team. An Individual as a sales manager works closely with salespeople, assigns sales territories, sets quotas, mentors the members of the sales, assigns sales training, and builds a sales plan.
The Sales Manager work also includes hiring and laying off sales personnel after evaluating his or her work performance. In bigger entities, sales quotas and plans are usually set at the executive level. He or she is responsible for overseeing the set target or quotas met by salespeople or upholding any policy. He or she guides his or her fellow salespeople and allows them to sell.
Individuals who opt for a career as a business analyst look at how a company operates. He or she conducts research and analyses data to improve his or her knowledge about the company. This is required so that an individual can suggest the company strategies for improving their operations and processes.
In a business analyst job role a lot of analysis is done, things are learned from past mistakes and the successful strategies are enhanced further. A business analyst goes through real-world data in order to provide the most feasible solutions to an organisation. Students can pursue Business Analytics to become Business Analysts.
A marketing manager is a person who oversees a company or product marketing. He or she can be in charge of multiple programmes or goods or can be in charge of one product. He or she is enthusiastic, organised, and very diligent in meeting financial constraints. He or she works with other team members to produce advertising campaigns and decides if a new product or service is marketable.
A Marketing manager plans and executes marketing initiatives to create demand for goods and services and increase consumer awareness of them. A marketing manager prevents unauthorised statements and informs the public that the business is doing everything to investigate and fix the line of products. Students can pursue an MBA in Marketing Management courses to become marketing managers.
An SEO Analyst is a web professional who is proficient in the implementation of SEO strategies to target more keywords to improve the reach of the content on search engines. He or she provides support to acquire the goals and success of the client’s campaigns.
