The topic has sparked extensive discussions on social media platforms like LinkedIn and X, with many individuals sharing their views on the height of mismanagement of MDI Gurgaon.
MDI Gurgaon has withdrawn the PGDM IB admission offers given to at least 132 students, which exceeded the seat capacity of the institute. Students gave up admission offers from second-generation IIMs like IIM Udaipur and IIM Kashipur to study at MDI Gurgaon, which kept them in unpredictable waiting lists. Not only have applicants turned down offers from IIMs, many have quit jobs and taken loans to cover fees.

LinkedIn user Mohit Kashyap wrote, MDI - where M stands for mismanagement. He also added, who is responsible for the wasted years of efforts of a 95 percentile CAT scorer?. Additionally, he calls the authorities to realise this situation immediately and take steps to find a solution to protect the future of the students.

On LinkedIn, City Head and Chief Mentor of IMS Learning Resources Pvt. Ltd., Lucknow, Mr Anubhav Singh suggests future CAT aspirants not to trust B-schools like MDI Gurgaon.
He also added, It looks like a case of premeditated fraud and cheating. He also criticised the admission withdrawal email students received.
In these emails they do not accept the error/ the language used is very unforgivable and they want to withhold 6 lakh rupees from 100 candidates for 1 full year for deferred admission, they should give an option to join MDI next year of their choice. If they don't enrol in MDI, the amount will be refunded.
MDI indicates that refund recipients will not be eligible for deferred enrollment the following year!, he added.

A man shared, indeed zero concern towards students career from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon end.
What kind of game or scam are they trying to play here? How could they not understand that the roster of these students were not just numbers on a screen, but real human beings, capable of putting their lives at risk, he added.
What is the Students’ Stand on this Matter?
The students said, “They have given excessive concessions to 132 people and now they are giving deferred admission, but it will waste an entire year. People have quit their jobs and taken out loans. They have to pay the interest on the loan and there will be a gap of one year in their record. We ask them to put us in another branch but they don't agree to that either.
Many candidates have quit their full-time jobs to study MDI Gurgaon PGDM IB programme scheduled to start on June 21, 2024.

Hey Nikhil,
Hope you are doing well !
To answer your question, NO. All the students of premier B-schools in India do not have the above criteria. Though they are preferred, but what all the students have is a good profile, with good academics, and good co-curricular and extra-curricular.
Also, having work-ex is not mandatory, though it would help you is B-schools.
Hope my answer helped you. Please let me know in case of any further queries.
Hey Shivang,
Hope you are doing well !
To be honest, it seems that you have a decent profile, and obviously your active participation in sports is a boon in your Resume.
But your CAT score and GD-PI play a major part in the interview process.
Considering you score a 94+ percentile, and have a decent GD-PI round, I hope that you have good chances of converting MDI.
Hope my answer was helpful.
Wish you Best of Luck!
Hello Ram,
Hope you are doing well !
In answer to your question, I think that you have a pretty good chance to get in the top IIM's, and the premier B-schools in India. Though, your CAT score and your performance in GD-PI play a pretty important role in the process.
Other than that, I think that you have a pretty decent profile.
Hope my answer was helpful.
Wish you Best of Luck !
