    Careers360: Tell us something about yourself.

    Arundhati D: My name is Arundhati. I am from Bangalore. I completed my graduation in bachelor's of commerce from Vijaya College in the year 2020. Post my graduation, I have worked as a Trust and Safety New Associate in Accenture Solutions Private Limited for 25 months. My job role involved reviewing and analysing user profiles on client platforms usually reported by the users or flagged by the system.

    Careers360: What made you choose IFMR GSB for your MBA?

    Arundhati D: IFRM GSB’s legacy for being a premium institute providing quality education and vibrant intellectual foundation inspired me to choose the college. Also, IFMR’s philosophy to provide top-quality management education that prepares students to be ethically grounded, to be highly skilled in integrated reasoning strongly aligns with my aspirations and further motivated my decision.

    Careers360: Please give some insights on your admission and selection process at IFMR GSB.

    Arundhati D: My selection process involved a personal interview. Prior to the interview, an option was provided to schedule the interview ourselves. On the scheduled date, a personal interview was conducted online. The onboarding process, managed by the admissions committee, was exceptionally smooth and well-organized. Every query related to admissions was addressed with diligence and promptness, ensuring a seamless experience.

    Careers360: What were some of the challenges you faced in the initial months after you joined IFMR?

    Arundhati D: There hasn’t been any significant problem I have faced as such in the initial months apart from adapting to a new environment. However, the welcoming atmosphere on campus, supportive peer groups, and engaging activities conducted on campus quickly made me adapt to the new environment.

    Careers360: What is a typical day on campus as a student? How do you plan your daily activities?

    Arundhati D: A typical day on campus as a student involves attending classes. After attending the classes, there will be personal study sessions or collaborating on group assignments. For those involved in clubs or committees, the day often includes attending meetings or planning activities. I approach my daily activities with proper scheduling, ensuring that I prioritize tasks based on their importance and deadlines. Proper time management helps me effectively balance academics, extracurricular activities, and personal growth.

    Careers360: Can you share some of the memorable experiences you had on campus?

    Arundhati D: One of the most memorable experiences I can recount will be the icebreaker session that was conducted as a part of the induction/orientation. As new students are just beginning to familiarize themselves with our batchmates, this session stood out for its engaging group and team-building activities. This session helped to break the ice, connect with peer groups on a personal level ,and set the tone for a collaborative and supportive environment.

    Careers360: Name some of the regular activities conducted at the campus. Do they include fun activities? If yes, what are they and which ones do you participate in?

    Arundhati D: The campus hosts a variety of activities that contribute to both academic and personal growth. Fun activities are often organized during festival celebrations, including engaging games, cultural performances, and other festivities that foster a sense of community. There are also intra-college events conducted by various clubs and committees which provide opportunities for holistic learning, allowing students to explore their interests outside the classroom. I actively participate in some of these events as they offer a great balance of enjoyment and personal development.

    Careers360: What are the various clubs and committees at IFMR? Which ones are you part of?

    Arundhati D: There are multiple clubs and committees at IFMR, and they are: Placement Committee, Arthasabha, Markaholic, Genesis, Consulting, Analytics, Sports Committee, Laasya, Samarthan, OptemuX, Synergy, External and Alumni Relations, Public Relations, Raga, Abhinaya, Speakers Club, Nritya, MUN, Shutterbugs and Q-team. I’m part of Genesis, the admissions committee. I’m also part of the Speakers Club.

    Careers360: Did you ever get a chance to directly interact with the alumni? If so, how was the interaction?

    Arundhati D: Yes, I have had a chance to directly interact with the alumni of the college. The experience of interacting has been positive and highly insightful. Valuable information was shared regarding the curriculum, faculty, and overall college environment.

    Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship as per your experiences.

    Arundhati D: The faculty at IFMR are highly supportive and approachable, fostering a strong teacher-student relationship. They are readily available to answer any queries or solve doubts, both during and outside classroom hours. Additionally, they provide valuable feedback and mentorship that helps students identify areas for improvement, encouraging self-analysis and performance enhancement.

    Careers360: What campus facilities do you feel are simply great and which ones can do with some improvement?

    Arundhati D: Library and student hub facilities in the college are simply great. I feel the student lounge facility can do better with some improvement.

    Careers360: How would you rate your academic infrastructure? Would you suggest any changes?

    Arundhati D: IFMR’s academic infrastructure is excellent and supports a dynamic learning environment. The classrooms are well equipped with learning aids and the library provides extensive study materials catering to diverse academic needs.

    Careers360: Share some ways in which you manage your daily stress levels. Would you suggest IFMR GSB to friends and family and why?

    Arundhati D: To manage daily stress levels, I focus on maintaining a balanced routine. I try to engage in activities like reading, listening to music or taking a stroll along the perimeter of campus. I seek support from peers and mentors when needed, which fosters a collaborative and stress-free environment.

    I would suggest and recommend IFMR GSB to friends and family. The institution stands out for its robust academic curriculum, supportive faculty, and excellent infrastructure. Hence, the institution not only makes one industry ready but also provides a well-rounded and enriching experience.
