Ashutosh Pandey. I was always passionate about healthcare management. During my graduation itself, I could see the tremendous growth of the sector, the demand-supply gap for healthcare managers, and unlimited opportunities across the healthcare sector. Also, in my family, most of the members are serving in the healthcare industry and I have seen them touching the lives of people every day. Ashutosh Pandey. It's been a memorable journey. I still remember the first day of college, wandering hither and thither, surrounded by strangers. But now when I look back, I can safely say that those were the best two years of my life, and choosing the GIM HCM programme was the best decision I could take. From meeting excellent faculties whose thought processes and teachings will stay with me forever to being with my peers who taught me to think beyond books and who also became friends for a lifetime. Careers360. What were the parameters you looked for while selecting the PGDM (Healthcare Management) programme at GIM?

Ashutosh Pandey. The parameters I looked for while selecting the PGDM (Healthcare Management) programme at GIM are as follows:

Experiential learning & Innovative ways of teaching: Through Know your healthcare provider students go to hospitals, pharmaceutical plants, and laboratories where they work on live projects where they implement all that they learn in class. The curriculum of the GIM HCM programme is designed in such a way that it helps students to equip themselves not only with core competencies but also soft skills. Students are aware of the current developments in the field nationally and internationally. All the topics are covered with case-based discussions which not only push you to solve real-life business problems but also allow you to present yourself. We have a unique service-learning program known as Give Goa Health.

Placements: Constant increase in the average package and the set of companies visiting campus for opportunities is just amazing. You get to choose the domain and companies you wish to go for.

Integrated programme: One programme could give me integrated exposure to knowledge across all domains of healthcare be it public health, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, healthcare IT, healthcare financing, etc.

Qualified Faculty: Most of the faculties along with teaching are also involved in research in consulting in partnership with organizations like the World Health Organization, Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health Department of various states, and corporates like Johnson & Johnson, etc. They come from top colleges and have an amazing set of relevant experience in their respective fields.

Careers360. What have been your key learnings from your college days in your journey so far?

Ashutosh Pandey. My experience in GIM has been monumental and eye-opening. I learned, college isn't only about taking classes, studying, and earning grades; it's more about the experiences, opportunities, networks, and lessons learned along the way. Through group projects, student committees, leadership opportunities, and internships, our 2 years in college were a prime opportunity for us to show the world, and more importantly to ourselves, who are we, what we stand for, and how we can bring value to any community that we are a part of, I was the part of placement committee in the first year which pushed me to constantly get out of my comfort zone, learn new skills, and discover myself. I've learned a lot in this journey, a lot more than I had ever even imagined.

Careers360. Share a few good memories from your college days.

Ashutosh Pandey. There are many good memories. Be it Razzmatazz parties, KYHP lunches, midnight coffee breaks, hostel parties, all the events in the college, and a lot more. One specific would be the Lohri Dance, I had never danced before on stage. The preparation for the dance and the event taught me a lot of things about life and how we can break our own created paradigms.

Careers360. Did GIM assist in industrial visits and internships during the PGDM in Healthcare Management course? Were there any such activities you participated in and how did they help/ enrich your journey so far?

Ashutosh Pandey. Faculties were our backbone during internships, corporate projects, and industrial visits. Since, I had done multiple internships so I would always reach out for guidance, help and direction. They would guide us as a great mentor and an amazing friend. They would also help in reviewing the work and would provide genuine feedback because of which the industry would always want to come back to GIM for recruitment and give pre-placement offers as well.

Hello,

Studying MBA Finance from NIA Pune or NIBM Pune can be valuable if you aim to specialize in insurance, banking, or financial services. These institutes focus on niche domains, offering strong industry connections, sector-specific curriculum, and placement opportunities in reputed organizations within their respective fields. However, if you're looking for broader career prospects and better brand recognition, GLIM Chennai or GIM Goa may be better choices. Both are well-regarded for their comprehensive programs, diverse peer groups, and strong placement records across various sectors.

Hello Varun,

Based on your CAT raw score and profile, here's a breakdown of your potential calls and your chances for different institutes:

1. GIM Goa, GLIM Chennai, IMT Ghaziabad, IMI Delhi:

  • GIM Goa : With a score of 55, GIM typically looks for candidates with a higher percentile. However, you may still get a call if your overall profile, including your academic background (93.8% in Class 12, work experience), is strong.

  • GLIM Chennai : GLIM has a competitive cutoff, but with a solid academic record and work experience, there may be a chance, especially if you belong to a diverse background.

  • IMT Ghaziabad : Your chances with a score of 55 are slim, as IMT usually looks for a higher percentile. However, if you have an impressive profile and high academic scores, there may still be a slim possibility.

  • IMI Delhi : Similar to IMT, IMI Delhi has high cutoffs and competitive selection criteria. However, work experience and other factors like diversity can sometimes offset a lower CAT score.

    2. IIM SAP (Special Admission Program) :

  • The IIM SAP is typically for candidates with significant work experience or other unique factors. Your 14 months of work experience could be beneficial, but your CAT score of 55 is on the lower side, making it unlikely to receive an IIM SAP call. However, if you have other outstanding features in your profile (e.g., exceptional academic performance, leadership qualities, etc.), you might still stand a chance.

    3. Other Possible Calls :

  • UPES Dehradun : Known for considering work experience and unique profiles, UPES could be a potential option for you.

  • Bimtech Noida : You could expect a call here, considering your work experience and overall profile.

  • XIMB Bhubaneswar : This institute also considers profiles with good work experience, and you may stand a chance despite your score.

Overall, you can expect a call from institutes that weigh work experience and academic performance heavily, but you should also be prepared for lower-tier institutes in terms of CAT score cutoffs. Ensure you target institutes that match your profile for better chances.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hii,

If banking, finance, and insurance are of interest to you, pick GIM Goa (BFSI); it has a strong brand and excellent industry connections.
If you enjoy managing factories, supply chains, or logistics, SIOM Nashik (Operations) is the best option. It's a specialized field with excellent operations.
Overall, IMI Bhubaneswar (PGDM) is respectable, but not as good as SIOM or GIM.

GIM Goa (BFSI) is the best choice overall because of its superior brand, placements, and potential for expansion.
SIOM Nashik is the best for operations only.

Correct Answer: IKMG

Solution : Given:
G_KMI_MGK_GIM_IK

To fill the series we have to divide the series – G_KM / I_MG / K_GI / M_IK
Let's check each option –
First option: IIKK; GIKM / IIMG / KKGI / MKIK (No repeated pattern has been found.)
Second option: MGIK; GMKM / IGMG / KIGI / MKIK (No repeated pattern has been found.)
Third option: GGMI; GGKM / IGMG / KMGI / MIIK (No repeated pattern has been found.)
Fourth option: IKMG; GIKM / IKMG / KMGI / MGIK (At each step, the second letter shifts to the first position, the third letter shifts to the second position, the fourth letter shifts to the third position and the first letter shifts to the fourth position.)

So, the series becomes GIKMIKMGKMGIMGIK. Hence, the fourth option is correct.
