Yes, you can definitely apply for admission to IIT Bombay or other IITs outside of Karnataka even if you don't have a caste validity certificate from Karnataka.

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Obtain a Caste Certificate: Ensure you have a valid caste certificate issued by the competent authority in Karnataka. This certificate should clearly state your caste category (SC in your case).
  2. Domicile Certificate: You'll also need to provide a domicile certificate proving your Karnataka residency.
  3. Application Process: Follow the application process for IITs. The specific requirements may vary slightly, but generally, you'll need to submit your academic records, entrance exam scores (JEE Advanced), caste certificate, domicile certificate, and other relevant documents.
  4. Reservation Benefits: If you meet all the eligibility criteria and the reservation quota for your category is available in the IIT you're applying to, you will be eligible for the reservation benefits.

Important Note:

  • Validity of Caste Certificate: While a caste validity certificate might be required in some cases, it's not always a mandatory document. The IITs will verify your caste certificate through their own channels.
