    IIM Shillong Admission Criteria 2025: The Indian Institute of Management, Shillong has released its PGP admission criteria for the 2025-27 batch. Candidates must check the IIM Shillong selection criteria as laid in the IIM Shillong admission process by visiting the official website of the institute- iimshillong.ac.in. Candidates seeking admission to the PGP course will have to meet the set admission criteria of IIM Shillong. Candidates will be shortlisted for the IIM Shillong admission process 2025-27 based on the Common Admission Test conducted by the IIMs.

    CAT Result 2024

    IIM Calcutta conducted the CAT 2024 on November 24 in three slots. The result of CAT exam has been declared on December 19, 2024. Candidates who appeared on the CAT exam can check their CAT 2024 results by visiting the official website and entering their login credentials. The CAT scorecard consist of the sectional and overall percentile. Candidates who have secured the minimum IIM Shillong CAT cutoff will get shortlisted for further selection rounds.

    IIM Shillong Eligibility Criteria 2025

    Before filling in the application form of IIM Shillong for admission to the MBA programme, the candidates have to fulfil their IIM Shillong eligibility criteria. Check the IIM Shillong eligibility criteria below.

    • Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and must have scored at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA from a recognised university.
    • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (It may also be referred to as Persons with Disability (PWD) category) categories will be given a relaxation of 5 percent.

    IIM Shillong Admission Process 2025

    The admission to the PGP 2025 will be done in 2 stages. As part of IIM Shillong admission criteria 2025, in the first phase, the candidates will be shortlisted for the personal interview. In the second phase, the final merit list will be created for admission to the PGP for the IIM Shillong admissions 2025-27.

    Phase 1: Shortlisting for PI

    A. Candidates who have opted for IIM Shillong PGP 2025-27 batch will be eligible to take part in Phase 1 of the IIM Shillong selection process. The minimum CAT marks given below will be considered for different categories.

    Post step 1, composite scores will be calculated for eligible candidates. The score is based on the total CAT percentile and normalized application rating score (NARC), having a weightage of 65% and 35% respectively.

    Note: the actual percentage and percentile of a shortlisted candidate for PI may be much higher than the above-mentioned minimum values.

    The candidates fulfilling the criteria in Table 1 would be considered for shortlisting for admission to IIM Shillong.

    B. The candidates who qualify the IIM Shillong eligibility criteria will then be segregated in accordance with their academic disciplines in graduation.

    From each academic discipline a certain percentage (?) of candidates would be shortlisted for PI as follows:

    • ?: Number of candidates who appeared for CAT - 2020
    • ?: Number of Academic disciplines
    • ?i: the number of candidates present in the ??ℎ academic discipline, ∀ ? = 1, 2, 3, . . . , … … ?.

    The percentage of candidates eligible for the shortlist for any ??ℎ academic discipline will be as in Table 2.

    C. The candidates who stand eligible in their respective categories will be grouped as per the categories, with a number of candidates in any given category j being: ??, ∀ ? = E, ?, ?, ?. Meaning that:

    • ?E: Number of candidates in category EWS
    • ?T: Number of candidates in category ST
    • ?C: Number of candidates in category SC
    • ?o: Number of candidates in category OT

    According to the academic disciplines, the candidates will be grouped as per Table 3.

    Consequently, Mij is the number of candidates in Ith Academic discipline of Jth category ∀ i = 1, 2, 3, …, g, and ∀ j = E, T, C, O. Meaning that:

    • ?Ei: Number of candidates in the ??ℎ academic discipline in category EWS,

    D. Lastly, the number of candidates shortlisted for PI will be on the basis of:

    i. IIM Shillong will shortlist a total of X candidates for Personal Interview. The value of x will be decided on the basis of the overall performance of the candidates in CAT 2020, the availability of seats, buffer for possible overlap and attendance trends in the past, etc.

    E. The candidates in a given category, academic discipline and gender will be ranked based on the decreasing order of their CAT overall percentile.

    Phase 2: Merit Listing for Admission Offer

    After the personal interview of IIM Shillong admission process, the scores of the same will be used along with the overall CAT 2024 performance of the shortlisted candidates to prepare the final merit list. The admissions offers will be made based on this merit list. The scores used will therefore be:

    • Y: Score in PI
    • Z: Overall CAT Absolute Score

    which then will be normalized as Ny and Nz for preparation of the final merit list. This process is given below.

    Educational Loans Provided by IIM Shillong

    The Institute helps the candidates utilise educational loans from banks at the time of the IIM Shillong admission process. The necessary details of the process will be made available to the candidates after they are offered admission to the Institute.

    The Institute attempts that no candidate should miss the opportunity to pursue the Post Graduate Programme because of inadequate financial resources. IIM Shillong has a provision for a Need-Based Financial Assistance Scheme to help the economically weak candidates. The number of scholarship awardees and quantum of assistance will be decided based on the annual gross family income, candidates’ liquidity, creditworthiness and her/his overall suitability.

    In addition to that, there are scholarships made available to the Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/People with Disabilities (PWD) candidates by the Government of India.     IIM Shillong accepts the scores of CAT 2024. Overseas candidates may, however, apply with GMAT scores.
