About: Birla Institute of Management Technology Greater Noida was established in 1988. The institute is accredited with AACSB, NBA and NAAC. Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. Where are you from? What makes you want to pursue a master's degree? What do you hope to achieve with an MBA?

A: I'm Gurleen Kaur from Patiala, Punjab. I am a BBA graduate. Driven by a keen interest in the retail sector and a desire to understand consumer perceptions from various perspectives, I have chosen to pursue a PGDM Retail Management course at BIMTECH.

The allure of being surrounded by motivated professors and fellow master's students, all striving for excellence, is my primary motivation. In this complex world, challenges rarely have simple solutions; pursuing an MBA will, I believe, equip me with the critical thinking skills to navigate the nuanced shades of grey in the business landscape.

Careers360: Presently which course are you pursuing and in which year are you? What has been your most rewarding academic experience thus far?

A: Currently I am pursuing PGDM - Retail Management where navigating through the exciting challenges and opportunities that mark my first year in this academic pursuit. My most rewarding academic experience thus far lies in the comprehensive coverage of diverse topics in each trimester, proving invaluable in my practical endeavours during On-the-Job Training (OJT). The rich curriculum has seamlessly translated into practical skills, enhancing my hands-on experience in the real-world application of knowledge.

Careers360: Tell us about the course curriculum and specialisations offered. Are the learning more theory-based or practical-based?

A: All the programmes at BIMTECH hold MBA equivalence as accredited by AUI. BIMTECH Greater Noida courses include PGDM, PGDM Retail Management, PGDM International Business, PGDM Insurance Business Management and PGDM Online.

The curriculum is designed to prioritise practical-based learning, ensuring that students gain hands-on experiences and real-world insights throughout their academic journey.

Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

A: Embarking on a master's degree away from my hometown posed its own set of challenges. During the initial phase at BIMTECH, adapting to the changes proved to be a bit daunting. However, the unwavering support from the faculty, batchmates, warden, and even the hostel staff at BIMTECH played a pivotal role in easing this transition, making the entire process considerably more comfortable.

The collective efforts of everyone at BIMTECH not only provided comfort but also served as catalysts for personal growth. Their encouragement and assistance in stepping out of my comfort zone have been instrumental in helping me become the best version of myself.

Careers360: Does the institute provide opportunities to interact with industry stalwarts and people from the corporate world? If yes, share your experience and learnings.

A: BIMTECH goes the extra mile to facilitate meaningful interactions between its students and industry leaders, fostering a bridge between academia and the corporate world. The institute frequently arranges sessions such as guest lectures and panel discussions featuring prominent figures from different industries. This enables students to gain firsthand knowledge, insights, and practical wisdom from seasoned professionals.

Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.

A: In the Retail Management course, the student-to-faculty ratio is 1:8. The faculty members in the Retail Management programme are not only helpful but also adaptive, recognising the importance of staying abreast of the latest industry trends.

Careers360: Does your college help you get internships? Have you undergone an internship via college? Was there any stipend? Share your internship experience with us. Tell us what you learned, what challenges you faced, which company was it, which profile.

A: BIMTECH Greater Noida placement cell actively supports students in securing internships, providing valuable practical exposure. Renowned companies like The Collective, Zudio, Big Basket, Under Armour, and Naturals have collaborated with BIMTECH to facilitate internship opportunities.

These internships not only offer hands-on experience but also come with stipends ranging from Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 15,000. Personally, I am set to embark on a new internship in May and June 2024. Prior to this, I successfully completed a one-month on-the-job training in retail stores, focusing on front-end operations. Negotiating challenges inherent to dynamic retail environments, this experience has been instrumental in my professional development, offering insights and skills that will undoubtedly prove valuable in my future endeavours.

Careers360: Tell us about the placement drive. Is there a placement cell in your college? Do teachers/seniors help you prepare for placements, prepare a resume, mock interviews conducted?

A: Right from the onset of the programme, there has been a strong emphasis on equipping us with the tools to enhance our resumes and prepare us for the industry. The programme facilitated this process by organising mock interviews and group discussion sessions. These sessions were conducted not only by experienced seniors from the BIMTECH placement committee but also involved professionals affiliated with the institute.

Careers360: Which all companies generally visit your campus for placements? Can you give us an idea about the salary packages offered to the students at the time of placement?

A: BIMTECH frequently hosts renowned companies like ABFRL, BATA, Make My Trip, ICICI Bank, Under Armor, OPPO, Landmark Group and among others. BIMTECH Greater Noida average salary packages offered by these companies typically range from Rs. 8 to Rs. 10 LPA, with Landmark Group being the top-paying company at BIMTECH.

Careers360: What all facilities do you have on the campus? What do you like here the most which you feel is unique and differentiating?

A: The campus boasts a diverse array of facilities, catering to the multifaceted needs of its community. The well-maintained badminton and basketball courts further contribute to our way of hanging out and unwinding. A: In my leisure moments on campus, I indulge in my passion for painting, allowing my creative instincts to flourish. Sharing these leisurely times with friends is equally rewarding; together, we embark on walks through the serene campus or gather in the welcoming common area of our hostel.

Hope you are doing well ! If jims rohini is near your home then definitely you should go for it without even thinking for a minute . The JIMS hostel aims to provide a homely atmosphere away from home to the students. The rooms are spacious with windows opening to the balcony. Other hostel facilities include a common room and a dining hall. Apart from the solid infrastructure, it provides ample space for interaction and relationship building.

In my opinion I would suggest you to go with BIMTECH.

BIMTECH stands for Birla institute for management and technology is a very decent college and it is also one of the best B- schools to join.

See, if your CAT percentile lies in the range of 70- 85% or much more than this then don't forget to give this institute a chances as it is also very good college to explore.

The college size is vast and has every modern facilities along with good teachers.

Talking about the placements, it all depends upon the student's calibre. The average package lies in the range of 7-10 LPA and if you perform well then you can grab more better packages and offers.

Also, This college is economical and budget friendly with good facilities. So, better to get yourself here.
