Careers360: As an alumnus of BIMTECH, what do you think is unique about the institute and its PGDM programmes when compared to others?

Careers360: Please give insights on the importance of building and expanding professional networks. How should students plan and build?

Naman Chaturvedi: it is very important to build good networks as they point in the right direction in our career. They also help us find good opportunities and make ourselves capable of future opportunities and roles. A student should look out for leaders in his field and look to connect and learn from them. They should look out for role models to follow and build on their expertise.

Careers360: As part of the BIMTECH’s alumni, how often do you meet with the other members? How does the network support each member?

Naman Chaturvedi: We often plan for gatherings of alumni members. We are regularly in touch by other physical or digital connects. The network helps in finding and referring opportunities as well as becomes a good web for sharing knowledge and experience.

Naman Chaturvedi: The alumni can support the students and the institution by providing opportunities for internship placements and even conducting workshops or seminars on the latest happenings in the industry. They can provide important points for designing relevant courses and practical activities to enhance the knowledge of students.

Careers360: There is much talk of practical experience and a curriculum in sync with the industry as well as keeping up with technological advancements. What is your opinion on this? What would you suggest to today’s students on this?

Naman Chaturvedi: It is very important in the fast-changing world to be hands-on with your learned knowledge so as to provide your own insight and creativity towards teamwork and problem-solving.

A practical experience will help students in gaining knowledge in a very holistic manner.

Technology here can be a good enabler of keeping up to date with the latest changes in the field as well as giving an overview of the technological & the economic environment.

Careers360: As a professional, how would you advise a student to plan a career keeping in mind changes and upheavals in the industry?

Naman Chaturvedi: Planning for a career is a very dynamic process, and one should keep learning and researching one's desired roles and opportunities to keep adding to the information about the industry. Students should also stay in touch with their teachers & seniors to have an insider view of the industry.

Careers360: It is a fact that learning never ends for any professional. In this context, how do you think one should prepare for career advancement with value additions? How can students identify these areas?

Naman Chaturvedi: A student should develop their skill set in such a way so as to master firstly their own line of work and secondly to have an additional skill as a value addition. In current times the second skill could be related to technology and will enhance a student's profile. There are several tools and technologies rapidly changing the work environment. Making oneself comfortable with these technologies would be a good way to enhance one’s profile.

Careers360: Any advice to students who wish to pursue a PGDM?

Naman Chaturvedi: Students should try to develop their overall personality and not just focus solely on academics. An MBA is a program in which, apart from developing your own core skills, you also need to develop your personality, and soft skills and have wider exposure to the world. There are ample opportunities available, and one should try to use them in an optimal manner.

Dear aspirant !!

Hope you are doing well ! If jims rohini is near your home then definitely you should go for it without even thinking for a minute . The JIMS hostel aims to provide a homely atmosphere away from home to the students. The rooms are spacious with windows opening to the balcony. Other hostel facilities include a common room and a dining hall. Apart from the solid infrastructure, it provides ample space for interaction and relationship building.

It is best from my point of view . Go with it

Hope you get it

Thank you
