Established in 1984, International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), New Delhi is part of the Society for Indian Institute of Health Management Research. Careers360: Tell us something about yourself such as where you are from?
Answer: My name is Nancy Dhillon, hailing from Delhi. I pursued my graduation in BA from Delhi University.
Careers360: What course are you currently pursuing, and which year are you in?
Answer: I am presently pursuing PGDM/MBA in Hospital Management and I am in my final year.
Careers360: Did you face any difficulties in the initial months when you joined the institute?
Answer: Initially, I faced challenges in adjusting to the new environment, adapting to the course curriculum, and building new relationships with fellow students. However, with time and the support and guidance provided by the faculty, I overcame these challenges.
Careers360: What activities are offered at the institute? Are there any clubs or extracurricular activities you are a part of?
Answer: The institute offers various activities such as field visits, industry internships, guest lectures, conferences, seminars, and extracurricular activities including sports and cultural events. There are clubs for different extracurricular activities. Personally, I have participated in Nukkad Natak (street play) and I am a part of the Alumni Committee.

Careers360: Describe a typical day at the institute, from waking up to going to sleep.
Answer: A typical day at the institute involves waking up early in the morning, following a personal morning routine, attending scheduled classes, actively participating and taking notes, conducting research in the library, having lunch and socializing during midday breaks, attending workshops, seminars, and guest lectures, participating in extracurricular activities, dedicating time for self-study in the evenings, connecting with family and friends, having dinner, and getting a good night's sleep to prepare for the next day.
Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio and the teacher-student relationship in your understanding?
Answer: The faculty-student ratio at IIHMR Delhi is 9:1. The teacher-student relationship is crucial for my academic growth and personal development. The teachers at IIHMR serve as mentors, guides, and facilitators, creating an environment of mutual respect and open communication. I benefit from their expertise and industry knowledge in healthcare management. The faculty members possess extensive experience and academic qualifications, making them valuable resources for my learning.

Careers360: What facilities are available on the campus? What do you find unique and differentiating?
Answer: IIHMR Delhi provides various facilities on its campus to enhance the learning experience and ensure the overall well-being of its students. These facilities include a library, computer lab, classrooms, auditoriums, cafeteria, hostel facilities, sports and recreation areas, research and training centers, healthcare facilities, Wi-Fi connectivity, and student support services. The research and training centers focusing on healthcare management, public health, and policy analysis are particularly unique and facilitate interdisciplinary research. Additionally, international exposures are another standout feature of the institute.
Careers360: How comfortable are the hostels, and what about cleanliness?
Answer: The hostels at my institute provide fully furnished rooms with amenities such as beds, study tables, chairs, ceiling fans, lights, and coolers. There is a common dining hall with hygienic facilities and a television. Water is available round the clock, and there is a backup generator. Trained guards ensure the safety of the students, and regular cleaning and maintenance activities are conducted for a clean and comfortable environment.

Careers360: Are medical facilities available? Can you avail requisite medical attention in case of an emergency?
Answer: IIHMR Delhi provides medical facilities such as first aid, blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, essential medicines for minor illnesses, wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, weighing machines, and sanitary pads. In case of emergencies, necessary medical attention is readily available on campus.

Answer: I effectively balance my studies, projects, exams, and other activities by practicing time management, planning ahead, avoiding procrastination, staying organized, prioritizing self-care, utilizing effective study techniques, and seeking support from classmates or tutors when needed.
