International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Delhi is a coeducational institution established in the year 2008. Courses offered by IIHMR Delhi include the Fellowship Programme in Management and the PGDM Hospital and Healthcare Management. IIHMR admissions are both entrance exam and merit-based.
Careers360 brings you an interview with Ramanpreet, a PGDM Hospital and Healthcare Management student at IIHMR Delhi. In this interview, Ramanpreet talks about the campus life, facilities and placements at IIHMR Delhi.
Careers360: Tell us something about yourself, such as from which place you are from?
Ramanpreet: Hi, I’m Ramanpreet from New Delhi.
Careers360: Presently, which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?
Ramanpreet: I’m currently pursuing PGDM in Hospital and Healthcare Management, and I’m in my 1st year.
Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?
Ramanpreet: Honestly, yes. In the beginning, I found it a little tough to adjust, especially since everything was new—new people, environment, and routine. But the faculty and fellow students were helpful and supportive, which made the transition smoother.
Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc., for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?
Ramanpreet: Yes, the college offers a lot of activities and clubs. We have tech clubs, drama, dance, music, photography, and sports clubs. I’ve been part of the cultural club and sometimes participate in cultural fests.
Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?
Ramanpreet: A typical day starts around 7 AM. I get ready and attend classes from around 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. After that, I usually chill with friends, work on assignments, or take part in club activities. In the evening, we hang out at the canteen or just walk around campus. I try to wrap up my day by revising what I studied and preparing for the next.
Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.
Ramanpreet: The faculty-student ratio is pretty good, which means we get individual attention when needed. The teachers are approachable and friendly. They really try to understand where we’re coming from and help us out, especially before exams or during project submissions.
Careers360: What all facilities do you have in the campus? What do you like here the most which you feel is unique and differentiating?
Ramanpreet: We have well-equipped labs, a library, Wi-Fi, a cafeteria, sports grounds, and an auditorium. I think what stands out the most is the supportive atmosphere and the focus on both academics and personal growth.
Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels, and how about the cleanliness factor over there?
Ramanpreet: The hostels are quite comfortable. Rooms are spacious enough, and basic facilities like laundry and hot water are there. Cleanliness is maintained regularly, and there’s a warden to make sure things stay in order.
Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?
Ramanpreet: Yes, there’s a medical room on campus with a nurse available, and in case of emergencies, the institute helps arrange transport to nearby hospitals. We’re not left alone in such situations.
Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?
Ramanpreet: Time management is key. I try to make a simple schedule during exam time. I study a bit daily, so it doesn’t pile up. Also, most projects are group-based, so we split the work and help each other.
Q. Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students point of view?
Ramanpreet: Clubs are a big part of campus life. They give you a chance to explore your interests, meet new people, and build confidence. They’re also great for learning soft skills that help beyond the classroom.
Q. Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?
Ramanpreet: Yes, we have an in-house magazine that covers events, student achievements, and creative content like poems or articles written by students. It’s a nice way to stay updated and get inspired.
Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?
Ramanpreet: The canteen and open lawns are our favourite hangouts. Outside campus, we often go to nearby cafés or food stalls. There’s a mall and a lake nearby that students love visiting during weekends.
Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time on campus?
Ramanpreet: I usually spend my free time with friends, watching something on my phone, or going for a walk. Sometimes we play badminton or just relax in the common area.
Careers360: Do you have any Facebook page of your campus where the students express their views, jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life at campus?
Ramanpreet: Yes, there’s an unofficial Facebook group where students share memes, updates, ideas, and sometimes even important notices. It keeps the vibe light and fun. Some students also write blogs on their personal experience, and those get shared around too.
Careers360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment, and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?
Ramanpreet: Companies like Deloitte, Accenture, IQVIA and many other top organisations and hospitals visit our campus for placements. The placement rate is decent, with almost all students getting placed every year, around 95-100%. The process involves aptitude tests, group discussions, and interviews, and the placement cell guides us throughout.

To ensure that the material created is consistent with the overall aims of a digital marketing campaign, content marketing specialists work closely with SEO and digital marketing professionals.
A sales manager is a revenue-generating source for a company. Any organisation or company which sells a commodity or service requires sales to generate revenue. A Sales manager is a professional responsible for supervising the sales team. An Individual as a sales manager works closely with salespeople, assigns sales territories, sets quotas, mentors the members of the sales, assigns sales training, and builds a sales plan.
The Sales Manager work also includes hiring and laying off sales personnel after evaluating his or her work performance. In bigger entities, sales quotas and plans are usually set at the executive level. He or she is responsible for overseeing the set target or quotas met by salespeople or upholding any policy. He or she guides his or her fellow salespeople and allows them to sell.
Individuals who opt for a career as a business analyst look at how a company operates. He or she conducts research and analyses data to improve his or her knowledge about the company. This is required so that an individual can suggest the company strategies for improving their operations and processes.
In a business analyst job role a lot of analysis is done, things are learned from past mistakes and the successful strategies are enhanced further. A business analyst goes through real-world data in order to provide the most feasible solutions to an organisation. Students can pursue Business Analytics to become Business Analysts.
A marketing manager is a person who oversees a company or product marketing. He or she can be in charge of multiple programmes or goods or can be in charge of one product. He or she is enthusiastic, organised, and very diligent in meeting financial constraints. He or she works with other team members to produce advertising campaigns and decides if a new product or service is marketable.
A Marketing manager plans and executes marketing initiatives to create demand for goods and services and increase consumer awareness of them. A marketing manager prevents unauthorised statements and informs the public that the business is doing everything to investigate and fix the line of products. Students can pursue an MBA in Marketing Management courses to become marketing managers.
