Tejaswini: I am Tejaswini Ramesh, a first-year MBA student at Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Trichy. With a background in Psychology and a strong interest in data analytics, marketing, and leadership, I have developed a keen analytical mindset and a passion for problem-solving. I thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy tackling complex challenges, and constantly seek opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. Beyond academics, I am an avid public speaker, having hosted and participated in various events, including emceeing, panel discussions, debates, and keynote speeches.
Careers360: What made you pursue a full-time residential MBA Programme at BIM Trichy?
Tejaswini: I pursued an MBA to build a strong foundation in business management, enhance my analytical and leadership capabilities, and gain exposure to industry-relevant experiences. Tejaswini: My day typically begins with classes, followed by committee work, group discussions, and self-study sessions. I actively participate in extracurricular and networking activities to enrich my learning experience. To manage my time efficiently, I prioritize tasks using planners, set achievable deadlines, and incorporate short breaks to maintain productivity and focus.
Careers360: Does BIM Trichy follow this unique culture of “not always classes, but co-curricular and extra-curricular activities too.”? What activities are held at the campus? Did you take part in any?
Tejaswini: BIM Trichy embraces a holistic learning approach, blending academics with co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The campus hosts industry interactions, management fests, leadership workshops, and cultural events, creating a vibrant learning environment. I have actively participated in industry talks, and student-led initiatives, which have significantly enhanced my overall experience.

Tejaswini: Yes, I have engaged in management case study competitions and business simulation challenges that allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. These experiences have sharpened my analytical abilities, strategic thinking, and teamwork skills, providing invaluable hands-on learning.
Careers360: What are the different clubs and committees at BIM Trichy? Which ones are you part of?
Tejaswini: BIM Trichy boasts a diverse range of student-driven clubs and committees, including the Placement Committee, Public Relations Committee, Alumni Relations Committee, Mess Committee, Sports Committee, Cultural Committee, and Sustainability and Welfare Committee. There are also domain-specific clubs for Finance, Marketing, Operations, Analytics, HR, and Entrepreneurship. I am an active member of the Public Relations Committee, where I manage admissions promotions, oversee social media activities, and coordinate with external vendors to enhance the institute’s outreach.
Careers360: Did you attend any alumni engagement sessions? Was the interaction valuable?
Tejaswini: Yes, alumni engagement sessions have been incredibly insightful. Interacting with industry professionals who have walked the same path has provided valuable career guidance, networking opportunities, and practical insights into industry expectations. These sessions offer a real-time perspective on market trends and business dynamics, bridging the gap between academia and industry.
Careers360: How are the teacher-student relationships at BIM Trichy? Did positive relationships lead to better academic performance?
Tejaswini: The faculty at BIM Trichy is highly approachable, fostering an interactive and engaging learning environment. Tejaswini: The academic resources, library, research labs, and centres of excellence at BIM Trichy are top-notch, providing a strong foundation for learning. However, certain infrastructural aspects, such as hostel facilities and dedicated study lounges, could be further enhanced. That said, the institute is actively addressing these concerns, with a state-of-the-art new campus set to be operational in the upcoming year, promising an even better student experience.
Careers360: How much would you rate the academic infrastructure? Would you suggest any changes?
Tejaswini: I would rate the academic infrastructure a solid 9/10. The curriculum is continuously updated to align with industry demands, with faculty members, area chairs, and industry experts collaboratively shaping the syllabi each year. This ensures that the learning experience remains relevant, contemporary, and technologically advanced.
Careers360: In what ways do you manage your daily stress levels?
Tejaswini: I manage stress through structured planning, mindfulness practices, and engaging in activities beyond academics. Reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends help me unwind. Additionally, I prioritize physical activity and take short breaks to maintain focus and mental well-being. Having a balanced routine allows me to stay productive while ensuring overall wellness.
