Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. Where are you from? What makes you want to pursue a master's degree? What do you hope to achieve with an MBA?
A: I am, Unnati Lohia, from Ahmedabad. I have completed my Bachelor’s degree from Gujarat Law Society University majoring in Banking and Finance to enhance my management skills and get access to extensive business networks while being an active member of the Rotaract Club for the past 2 years.
Careers360: Presently which course are you pursuing and in which year are you? What has been your most rewarding academic experience thus far?
A: I am in my first year of PGDM in Retail Management at BIMTECH Greater Noida where I found on-the-job training to be the most fulfilling academic experience, connecting classroom knowledge to real-world sales and operations. I also competed in case studies and company ideas competitions.
Careers360: Tell us about the course curriculum and specializations offered. Are the learning more theory-based or practical-based?
A: There are many specializations offered by BIMTECH, Greater Noida. The institute offers PGDM courses in PGDM, PGDM International Business, PGDM Retail Management, and PGDM Insurance Business Management. The BIMTECH, Greater Noida curriculum depends from course to course. The college offers courses which are a mix of theory and practical. With the help of field-based projects assessed by industry professionals, we can apply theory-based learning to real-world scenarios.
Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?
A: Starting at any new institution bring challenges. BIMTECH Greater Noida resources included easing the transition, including orientation programs, student mentors, and peer groups.
Careers360: Does the institute provide opportunities to interact with industry stalwarts and people from the corporate world? If yes, share your experience and learnings.
A: The BIMTECH Greater Noida regularly promotes chances for students to interact with business experts and industry titans by frequently hosting industry exchanges, panel discussions, and guest lectures so that students can talk to and learn from seasoned professionals.
Careers360: What all initiatives are taken by the institute to make the classes and learning more engaging for all students?
A: The BIMTECH, Greater Noida takes a lot of initiatives for all students. The college invites guest lecturers from varying businesses. Also, experiential learning encourages students to take part in academic activities, conferences, and seminars promoting lifelong learning. Constantly takes feedback from students to enhance the quality of instruction and the learning process.
Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs, societies, etc for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?
A: The BIMTECH offers various extracurricular activities, including conduits of food, culture, alumni, sustainability and entrepreneurship clubs, retail clubs, etc. Being a member of Club Retailia, I gained a deeper understanding of retail.
Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.
A: The BIMTECH, Greater Noida has a student-to-faculty ratio of one instructor for every eight students. Instructors are supportive and flexible, keeping up with industry developments.
Careers360: Does your college help you get internships? Have you undergone an internship via college? Was there any stipend? Share your internship experience with us. Tell us what all you learned, what challenges you faced, which company was it, which profile.
A: The BIMTECH offers paid internships in good companies with stipends ranging between Rs10,000- 20,000. I had a summer internship at 'The Collective' and got experience in retail store operations through on-the-job training at Pantaloons. The internship focused on inventory management, customer relationship management, merchandising management, visual merchandising replenishment, and daily tasks by shadowing our industry mentor.
Careers360: Tell us about the placement drive. Is there a placement cell in your college? Do teachers/seniors help you prepare for placements, prepare a resume, mock interviews conducted?
A: The PGDM Retail Management programme from the first month helped build resumes, take mock interviews, and group discussion sessions with placement committee seniors and institute professionals.
Careers360: Which all companies generally visit your campus for placements? Can you give us an idea about the salary packages offered to the students at the time of placement?
A: Generally, companies like ABFRL, BATA, Make My Trip, ICICI Bank, Under Armor, OPPO, and Landmark Group take part in the BIMTECH placement drive. The Landmark being the highest-paid company in BIMTECH, Greater Noida placements and the average salary packages were around 8-10 LPA.
Careers360: What all facilities do you have on the campus? What do you like here the most which you feel is unique and differentiating?
A: BIMTECH, Greater Noida offers cleanliness and hygiene food standards which makes it stand out from any other institute. Other BIMTECH facilities include a tuck shop, medical centre, grooming centre, cycles, gym, cafeteria, badminton, and basketball court.
Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?
A: BIMTECH, Greater Noida prioritizes health and well-being with a 24/7 health facility, providing prompt and professional care for basic and emergency medical needs. Resident physicians and visiting physicians provide discreet, qualified assistance. The facility also offers access to well-equipped hospitals nearby, ensuring prompt access to cutting-edge care. Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams, and other activities?
A: Initially, juggling various tasks was challenging, but the support from hostel mates and BIMTECH faculty made the journey easier.
Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?
A: The BIMTECH Hostels are known for their cosy, friendly atmosphere, good upkeep, and functional facilities. They are spacious, with study spaces and basic furniture. Access controls and 24-hour surveillance ensure safety. Students appreciate the community-building atmosphere. Hostels are also commended for their cleanliness, maintained through frequent cleaning and effective waste management.
Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?
A: The BIMTECH infrastructure includes a cafeteria, machans, and BIMTECH lawn, which are the most popular hangouts. The nearby popular locations include Alpha 1and2, Grand Venice Mall, and Jagat Farms.
Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?
A: I enjoy walking alone or with friends, or having a meal in the cafeteria while watching a movie.

Hope you are doing well ! If jims rohini is near your home then definitely you should go for it without even thinking for a minute . The JIMS hostel aims to provide a homely atmosphere away from home to the students. The rooms are spacious with windows opening to the balcony. Other hostel facilities include a common room and a dining hall. Apart from the solid infrastructure, it provides ample space for interaction and relationship building.

In my opinion I would suggest you to go with BIMTECH.
BIMTECH stands for Birla institute for management and technology is a very decent college and it is also one of the best B- schools to join.
See, if your CAT percentile lies in the range of 70- 85% or much more than this then don't forget to give this institute a chances as it is also very good college to explore.
The college size is vast and has every modern facilities along with good teachers.
Talking about the placements, it all depends upon the student's calibre. The average package lies in the range of 7-10 LPA and if you perform well then you can grab more better packages and offers.
Also, This college is economical and budget friendly with good facilities. So, better to get yourself here.
