Careeres360: Tell us something about yourself such as from which place are you from?
Satosh:
I’m from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It’s a city known for its calm environment and educational institutions, and I feel fortunate to be pursuing my higher education here.

Careeres360: Presently which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?
Satosh:
I am currently pursuing an MBA with a dual specialisation in Finance and Marketing. I’m in my second and final year.

Careeres360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?
Satosh:
Initially, the transition from undergraduate to a postgraduate environment was slightly challenging in terms of managing the workload and adapting to the case-based learning approach. However, the faculty and peers were very supportive, which made settling in easier.

Careeres360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?
Satosh:
Graphic Era offers a wide range of activities beyond academics. There are clubs for entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, cultural events, sports, and CSR initiatives. I’m actively involved in the Management Club and have participated in several marketing fests, business plan competitions, and industry interaction sessions.

Careeres360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?
Satosh:
A typical day starts with classes around 8 AM. Post lectures, we often have group projects, presentations, or guest lectures. Afternoons are for self-study or club meetings. Evenings may include networking sessions, seminars, or prepping for upcoming competitions. After dinner, I usually revise the day’s lessons or work on assignments before heading to bed.

Careeres360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.
Satosh:
The faculty-student ratio is quite balanced, and what stands out is how approachable and experienced the faculty members are. Most of them have corporate exposure and are always open to mentoring students on both academic and career-related fronts.

Careeres360: What all facilities do you have in the campus? What do you like here the most which you feel is unique and differentiating?
Satosh:
The campus offers excellent facilities like smart classrooms, WI-Fi-enabled study zones, a finance lab, auditoriums, and a central library. What I personally admire is the exposure we get through guest lectures from industry leaders, tie-ups with companies for live projects, and regular workshops on current trends like AI in business, financial modelling, and digital marketing.

Careeres360: How comfortable are your hostels, and how about the cleanliness factor over there?
Satosh:
Hostels are quite comfortable with proper furnishings, study areas, and attached washrooms. Cleanliness is taken seriously, with daily housekeeping services and regular inspections. There’s also a common room and indoor game facilities for students to relax.

Careeres360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?
Satosh:
Yes, Graphic Era provides excellent medical support to students. The university has its own fully operational hospital, Graphic Era Hospital, equipped with modern medical infrastructure, specialist doctors, and emergency care services. There is also an on-campus clinic for regular healthcare needs and first aid. Moreover, all students are covered under medical insurance, ensuring timely and cashless access to medical treatment in case of emergencies. Student health and well-being are given top priority at Graphic Era.

Careeres360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?
Satosh:
It’s all about time management and prioritisation. I maintain a planner that helps me allocate time for academics, group work, club activities, and self-study. During exam time, I focus more on theory and case revision, while weekends are usually reserved for extracurricular or self-growth.

Careeres360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students point of view?
Satosh:
The clubs here are very active and contribute significantly to personal and professional development. For MBA students, especially, clubs like the Finance Club, HR Club, E-Cell, and Toastmasters help in enhancing practical skills, confidence, and industry readiness. I feel they are an integral part of the learning experience.

Careeres360: Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?
Satosh:
Yes, we have departmental newsletters and campus magazines that showcase student achievements, research articles, recent events, and upcoming opportunities. These are a great way to stay updated and also provide a platform for students to contribute their writings.

Careeres360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?
Satosh:
On campus, the central canteen, Ravi canteen, Quick bite and the library lawns are popular hangouts. Nearby, students often visit Rajpur Road, Pacific Mall, and cafés around Mussoorie Road. These places are great for both relaxation and networking.

Careeres360: How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?
Satosh:
In my leisure time, I like to read, work on LinkedIn profile updates, or attend skill-building webinars. I also enjoy club meetups, playing badminton, or just catching up with friends in the evening.

Careeres360: Do you have any Facebook page of your campus where the students express their views jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life at campus?
Satosh:
Yes, there are official university pages as well as student-run social media groups where students share memes, updates, achievements, and experiences. Some students also maintain YouTube channels and Instagram handles showcasing life at Graphic Era.

Careeres360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?
Satosh:
Top companies across sectors such as consulting, FMCG, banking, IT, and e-commerce visit the campus for recruitment. Renowned organisations like Deloitte, ICICI Bank, HDFC, Amazon, Wipro, Capgemini, and many more have recruited students from our batch. The university has consistently maintained a 100% placement record for eligible students in various streams.
