About: MET Institute of Management, Mumbai is a private institution established in 1994. MET Mumbai courses include MMS and PhD Management. To be eligible for MET Institute of Management admission to MMS programme, candidates should graduate with a minimum of 50% of marks in the aggregate (45% for reserved category). Admissions at MET Institute of Management is entrance-based. MET Mumbai has a wi-fi campus with well-maintained AC classrooms. MET Mumbai facilities include E-enabled libraries, conference rooms, a hi-tech convention centre, computer laboratories, an air-conditioned recreation area, a canteen, a playground with ultra-modern facilities, guest rooms, a recording studio, sports facility and many other facilities. Top recruiters during MET Institute of Management placements are Deloitte, Aditya Birla Group, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, HCL and others.

Q. Tell us about your domain and your work profile. At the professional level, did you pursue the same field you were interested or you switched?

A: I am working as a Digital Marketing Specialist in Canada at one of the French media agencies - Publicis Groupe. I got my first job through placement when I was pursuing my master's. I also wanted to go into digital marketing, and I am super happy to work in the same.

Q. Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?

A: I started with HDFC LTD but always wanted to get into digital marketing. Hard work and certifications helped me get my dream job at Performics India which is a part of Publicis Groupe where I got to learn a lot and excel in my career and grow as a manager. Later I moved to Canada and continued in the same field. Currently, I am happy to work with Saatchi & Saatchi, which is again a part of Publicis Groupe.

Q. Is the industry work different from what you learnt at MET Institute?

A: It's the same, only the experiences at different places are different.

Q. How do you think your time in MET has added value to your life, both professional and personal?

A: I think I have seen myself growing a lot. From being a shy person to turning into a marketing person. MET Mumbai has helped me grow as an individual, helped me excel in my career and made me stronger to face all situations in life and manage my professional life.

Q. What was your initial thought process when you joined MET Institute?

A: I want to study and grow but also enjoy my college life, which is what exactly MET did. A perfect place for studies and extracurricular activities.

Q. You must have spent a memorable time at MET. Do you miss being a part of it? Share a few good memories.

A: My favourite place was the library. Also miss playing ping pong and listening to music. Making memories with friends, teachers and staff was the best thing and I miss them all.

Q. Briefly take us through your life at the campus, the activities you used to do and your routine life.

A: Every day was exciting, reaching before time, and spending time with friends. Sincerely attending lectures and do not miss any classes. The library was my go-to place and reading the newspaper was something I did daily. Sometimes just sitting in canteens and working on group projects was so much fun. From celebrating birthdays to crying on the last day, a whole roller coaster of emotions flows when someone asks about my life in MET. I wish I could be a student again.

Q. Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in and how did it enrich your life?

A: I was a part of the committee where I helped organise events and have spend good time with new people. Help juniors and guide them.

Q. How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements and what was the role of MET in it?

A: The guest lecturers were the best. They have been in their respective industry for so long their experiences were so good to listen to and keep updated on the latest happenings around. It helped me keep updated with various news related to marketing, digital marketing, economics and much more.

Q. You are a proud alumnus of MET Mumbai. What is the best part of MET Institute from a student's perspective?

A: The best part is the supportive guidance from all the lecturers. I am still in contact with a few and they still help me when I need any guidance and support. Sarvinder sir has helped me a lot in my career and reach Canada to pursue my dream life.

Q. What is your suggestion/ guidance for the MMS aspirants?

A: Focus on your career, this place will help you grow faster. At the same time, enjoy with friends and create beautiful memories which you can cherish for the rest of your life.

All the 3 colleges are average and almost equal in terms of everything. Still, if you want to choose one among the three I would suggest you go with Chetna then IES then MET.
