Careers360: What are the application criteria and the fee for MBA programme?

Admission Committee: As per the application criteria, a student first, must appear in CAT and later check the shortlist in IIM Kashipur. The total proposed intake for 2016-18 batch is 210. The fee for the programme is Rs. 10.50 lakhs.

Careers360: What is your selection criterion for MBA/PGDM programme for academic session 2016-18?

Admission Committee: The first step is to shortlist the candidates on the basis of their CAT cutoff. The shortlisted students will be called for further rounds of admission- WAT and PI, on the basis of the cutoff in each category. The final selection is based on the performance score in WAT and PI rounds, along with scores of work experience, gender, academic qualification, and CAT weight-age.

Careers360: Many of the top B-schools have replaced GD with WAT. What is your take on this?

Admission Committee: We have also replaced Group Discussion with Written Ability Test. We check writing skills as well as communication ability through WAT; hence, it is very important for both parties.

Careers360: What are the factors that influence student’s selection at the Personal Interview (PI) stage?

Admission Committee: The core qualities that must definitely be in a candidate are mental ability, motivation, and maturity. Such qualities add a value to our programmes and also help in coping with the programme requirements throughout its completion.

Careers360: How is Campus like of IIM Kashipur different from others?

Admission Committee: Life at IIM Kashipur is a mix of rigorous academics and on-campus activities. One thing is obvious here; there are plenty of opportunities available for students to learn, explore and live. Sports, college events, lectures, assignments and hostel fun are what make IIM Kashipur campus a happening place. Interactive sessions, lots of project work, different culture and lots of activities make different from others.

Hey there

Your academic marks are good and thus you'll have better chances of getting call from IIM Kashipur but getting admissions into iims not only depends on academic marks but it depends largely on your cat cat percentile and also the interview. So if you'll get good percentile in cat you'll surely get into iim Kashipur.

Good luck

What are my chances of getting into top IIMs or the new IIMs. I have 97% in Xth, 93% in XIIth and 59% in UG. Is my UG percent a reason for concern? Except A,B what all IIMs do I have a chance at?

Ashish pal Student Expert 16th Sep, 2019

Hello dear aspirant.

You are having fair chances of getting a good IIM.

You past score is not going to matter that much. Now you have to appear in CAT exam and after that if you qualify that you will be having a written ability test then after personal interview. This procedure makes your merit so try to score as much as you can.

Ok good luck

I got 76% in 10 and 72 %in 12th and 60 % in .If I get 85%til in CAT then I can get admission in IIM kashipur I belong with obc (jat)

Ranjot Singh Student Expert 15th Jun, 2019

Hello student,

For securing seat in IIM, not just your percentile in CAT but also your score in graduation, class 10 and class 12 are taken into consideration. Since you have scored very less in CAT and also your percentage in the rest of the academics are low, there are no chances of securing a seat in IIM Kashipur.

Good luck

how much iv to scored in cat to get admission in iim kashipur

Ratula 7th Jul, 2018

Hello Rahul,

If you are a General Engineering Male, with academic results not above 90% in boards and with no work experience, you should target a percentile in the range of 97-98. This is a ballpark figure, and changes every year subject to considerations like competition/level of difficulty of paper/etc.
