The Institute of Management Studies is a government institution that was established in 1968. IM-BHU is a constituent college of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. IM-BHU courses are offered at postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral levels. To be eligible for IM-BHU admission students must ensure that they meet the required eligibility criteria.
As per IM-BHU latest placement drive students have been placed in several leading organisations that include Infosys, IBM, ICICI Bank, and many more.

Yash Jumnani: I am Yash Jumnani, a student pursuing an MBA in Marketing at the Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University (IM-BHU). With a background in graphic designing, digital marketing, strategy, and creative endeavors, I have explored leadership roles as a Student Placement Coordinator, a member of various academic and cultural clubs, and a freelance graphic designer. My passion lies in leveraging creativity and analytics to drive impactful results in marketing and beyond.

Yash Jumnani: The decision to join IM-BHU was guided by its rich legacy, exceptional academic programs, and the unique ROI offered by the Institute of Management Studies (IM-BHU). Yash Jumnani: Adjusting to the vastness of the campus and navigating its multifaceted activities was initially overwhelming. Balancing academics with extracurricular activities and adapting to the diverse perspectives of peers required me to enhance my time management and interpersonal skills.
Careers360: What do you think are unique facilities that are offered at the Institute of Medical Sciences Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi?
Yash Jumnani: The Institute of Medical Sciences ecosystem offers self-sufficiency with state-of-the-art libraries, academic infrastructure, and numerous extracurricular opportunities. The cultural significance of the Vishwanath Temple and the variety of student-led clubs and societies enrich the holistic learning experience.
Careers360: Give us a glimpse of the daily routine followed by you at the IM-BHU campus.
Yash Jumnani: A typical day involves attending classes, collaborating on group projects, contributing to placement activities, and participating in various events. Evenings are reserved for engaging in club activities, working on creative projects, and connecting with the vibrant student community.
Careers360: If you were to rate one favorite thing at the IM-BHU campus, what would it be?
Yash Jumnani: The Vishwanath Temple holds a special place in my heart. Its serene ambiance provides a perfect space for introspection and spiritual rejuvenation amidst the academic rigor. Apart from the Vishwanath Temple, I deeply value the vast exposure a student gains at the Institute of Medical Sciences Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. From cultural fests to industry interactions and student-driven initiatives, the opportunities for growth here are endless.
Careers360: How would you rate the campus facilities?
Yash Jumnani: On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate IM-BHU facilities a solid 9. From well-equipped classrooms and hostels to cultural hubs and sports facilities, IM-BHU ensures a balanced and enriching environment for students.
Careers360: Which areas do you think can do with some improvement?
Yash Jumnani: Strengthening alumni engagement is a significant opportunity area, as the alumni network can play a critical role in enriching placement activities. IM-BHU’s alumni occupy top positions in leading corporations, and leveraging their guidance and mentorship would add immense value. Additionally, further modernization of infrastructure and adoption of digital tools would enhance student experiences.
Careers360: Peer groups generally leave long-lasting impressions. What is your opinion on the peer groups at IM-BHU?
Yash Jumnani: Peer groups at IM-BHU have been transformative. The diversity of backgrounds and ideas fosters collaboration, creativity, and lifelong friendships. Engaging with peers has helped shape my perspectives and sharpen my interpersonal skills.
Careers360: What are the regular fun activities at IM-BHU?
Yash Jumnani: The campus offers a range of cultural fests, sports tournaments, and inter-departmental competitions. At the hostel, badminton, table tennis, and cricket matches are regular stress-busters and help build camaraderie among students.
Careers360: Name some of the prominent clubs at IM-BHU. Which ones are you part of?
Yash Jumnani: Prominent clubs include the Management Students Club (MaSC), VisVires (Cultural Club), and the Institution Innovation Council. I was actively involved in all three, contributing to cultural events, academic initiatives, and industry interactions. In my second year, I am also gaining valuable experience as a Placement Coordinator, enhancing my leadership and networking skills.
Careers360: Extracurricular activities cover a lot of things. Name some activities that you participate in.
Yash Jumnani: I actively participate in poetry competitions, digital poster-making contests, and entrepreneurial events, having secured multiple accolades at IM-BHU’s flagship events like Brand Baja Bazaar, Rangsangram, and Unnayan.
Careers360: Stress busters are important. What are yours?
Yash Jumnani: Walking along the campus and serene ghats of the holy city of Varanasi, visiting the Vishwanath Temple, and engaging in creative pursuits like poetry and graphic designing are my go-to stress busters. The spiritual ambiance of the city adds a unique dimension to life here.
Careers360: Name some activities related to IM-BHU MBA & MBA-IB.
Yash Jumnani: The program is enriched with student-driven placements, focused group discussions, industry guest lectures, and workshops like the FLY-Scholar Program. These activities bridge the gap between academics and real-world business scenarios.
Careers360: How would you rate the academic infrastructure?
Yash Jumnani: I would rate it 9 out of 10. The classrooms and libraries provide an excellent environment for learning, though updating certain facilities with modern technology could enhance the experience further. The best part is that the Institute of Management Studies, IM-BHU is continuously working to modernize its infrastructure and curriculum, ensuring students remain industry-ready.

Yash Jumnani: I will miss the camaraderie, the cultural diversity, and the serene ambiance of the Birla Temple, the spiritual ambiance of the Vishwanath Temple, the serene ghats of Varanasi, and the holistic experience that IM-BHU offers. The memories of hostel life, cultural fests, and meaningful interactions will always hold a special place in my heart.
