Careers360: Tell us something about yourself.

Answer: Hello, I am Aman Jaswal. I hail from Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh. I completed my Bachelor's in Business Administration from Vikram University, Ujjain in 2021. I have a brief work experience of 8 months in Content Writing at Cognus Technology, Jaipur. Concurrently, I was also freelancing in the same vertical, catering to several recurring clients. Here, I felt the need to do a Masters and further move up on the corporate ladder. This is the time when I chose IBS Jaipur, and took one of the best decisions of my career. Ever since then the journey has been transforming.

Careers360: Tell us something about your IBS campus and what made you choose it.

Answer: I chose ICFAI Business School, Jaipur for several compelling reasons. Foremost, the stellar repute that it holds in the B-school world. The testimonies of the alumni truly represent the spirit of IBS Jaipur. The second reason is the ROI it offers, no other B-school comes even close when we look at the placements. Other compelling reasons include the pedagogy, lush green and humongous campus, and the vast curriculum.

Careers360: What is the course you are pursuing at IBS and what made you choose this specialization?

Answer: I am pursuing an MBA with a dual specialization in Marketing and Finance. An MBA graduate should have a well-rounded skill set in today’s dynamic business world. A keen interest and zeal to explore the marketing world pushed me into this learning environment. The specialization helped me learn Branding, Content Development, Service Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business to Business Marketing, Portfolio Management, Security Analysis and other important allied areas of Marketing and Finance.

Careers360: Summer internship is mandatory in all IBS campuses. Where did you pursue it and what was the duration? What were the steps to get into it?

Answer: I interned at smartSense Consulting Solutions Pvt Ltd, GIFT City, Gandhinagar, Gujarat for 14 weeks. I was working there as a Product Management Intern. I was keen on getting into the core marketing roles, and I was able to land this internship with the immense support of faculty members. The selection process for this role was a case study round followed by a personal interview. I was able to find a bug on the platform and communicate it to the Product Management team, this demonstrated to them that I know platform businesses and can work on product development aspects.

Careers360: Please give details on the assistance you received from the faculty, peers, and placement office with regard to the internships.

Answer: The assistance received from the faculty throughout the process was immense, the case-based learning in the first semester turned out to be the biggest asset that helped me clear round one of the process. The continuous soft skills, corporate and alumni talk sessions enhanced all the relevant skills. The one-on-one mentoring was again very helpful as it was solely focused on my weaknesses, further making me corporate-ready. IBS inculcates the right set of skills and knowledge that a candidate requires before moving into their summer internship program.

Careers360: How was your experience with the summer internships? What are the key takeaways that you can look back on from it?

Answer: These 14 weeks at smartSense have developed my personality in every possible aspect, I am obliged to IBS Jaipur for providing me with such an extraordinary opportunity. Right from day 1, there was a deep delve into learning and development, I explored the areas that I had never thought of. Coming from a management background, it was difficult for me to understand the undercurrents of technicalities that go behind the IT products, but now I have gained a lot of practical knowledge behind the SaaS products. The experience exposure was so enriching that I was able to secure the IBSAF Award for excellence in SIP- 2023 and second position in the National Level Summer Internship Presentation Competition at BSSS Institute of Advanced Studies, Bhopal. The key takeaways from my Summer Internship Project are

  • Sound understanding of Market and Product Research

Hi sir! hope you are doing good! The placements of all the nine campus of Hyderabad for Year 2019 was Very Good ! Mostly for all the campus There where good companies for recruitment!

following is the official link of Ibs Placements for The year 2019

https://www.ibsindia.org/final-placements/

all the best!

IBS Business School, Jaipur doesn't accept CMAT score. Candidates willing to join this institute have to appear for IBSAT conducted by that college. Admission will be based on the performance in IBSAT.
CAT/GMAT/NMAT qualified candidates don't need to sit for the exam (IBSAT). They are directly invited to the interview round.

Hello Azar,

Your question is not clear. Do you mean you got 10 percentile in CAT? If yes, then I am disappointed to let you know that you won't be getting decent colleges with this score. Also, I would not recommend you to join IBS Jaipur. Had you received a call from IBS Hyderabad, my suggestion would have been otherwise.

Kindly give yourself a chance and work hard to achieve better scores in CAT, XAT, IIFT, NMAT, SNAP, etc. It is always recommended to pursue MBA from good colleges for a better chance of getting placed in good MNCs. All the best.

Hi Riya

Thanks for contacting careers360 for your query. If you want to pursue management courses, then it is always advisable to prepare well and aim for top B-schools. Only ranked B-schools provide excellent facilities in all areas , including academics, infrastructure, exposure, placement etc.

Talking about the Indian Business Schools, then IBS Jaipur is an average college in terms of placement, Faculty & corporate exposure, Study environment etc. As per the reviews of alumni of this college, their experience was below expectation, practical learning was less and placement was not much beneficial. Class 2018 highest package is 10.2 lac. IBS has published its final placement statistics for 2017. According to the official website, average CTC was 4.21 lacs and highest was 6.66 lacs. The top 10 percent got 6.66 lacs while the top 25 percent got 5.28 lacs.

Similarly for IBS Ahmedabad, the fee structure is more than the average placement packages. Flagship programme fees is 7.26 lacs and average placement is 5.18 lacs. As per reviews it is actually not worth the time and money you invest.

Also I would like to add that only Hyderabad and Mumbai campuses of IBS have been reviewed as good colleges for MBA programmes. IBS Hyderabad is known for its specialization in Finance and IBS Mumbai for Marketing. Apparently about 40% of the faculties in IBS Mumbai are a visiting faculty, because of which students are exposed to the Industry experts  However, IBS Hyderabad is any day better in terms of Faculty, Infrastructure, Student life when compared to other campuses.

Hope the information above will help you take a better decision. Still if you have no option then don't worry. Have confidence in yourself and give your best wherever you go.

Good Luck!
