Careers360: Tell us something about yourself such as from which place are you from?
Gaurika Chhabra: My name is Gaurika Chhabra. I am from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. I completed my graduation in Advertising and Sales Promotion from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra. During my graduation, I developed a strong interest in marketing and creative thinking. I enjoy learning new things and working on ideas that bring change. My background has helped me become more confident and focused.
Careers360: Presently which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?
Gaurika Chhabra: I am currently pursuing a PGDM in Marketing from Lloyd Business School, Greater Noida. I am in the first year of this course. I chose marketing because I love understanding customer needs and creating ideas to promote products. Marketing helps me express my creativity and also improves my communication skills. I am excited to learn more and grow in this field.
Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?
Gaurika Chhabra: No, I did not face any problems in the beginning. The teachers were very kind and supportive. They are always available in their cabins to solve our doubts. Even if we go to them many times, they are patient and calm. Their guidance made me feel comfortable and confident from day one.
Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc. for extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?
Gaurika Chhabra: Yes, our college has many clubs like Marketing, Entrepreneurship, HR, Finance, and Cultural clubs. Being the President of the Entrepreneurship Cell I have got many chances to organize events and lead teams. I also got the opportunity to visit other colleges and pitch our ideas. It has really helped me improve my skills and confidence.
Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?
Gaurika Chhabra: Our college starts at 9 AM and goes on till 5 PM, just like a full-time job. It can be tiring sometimes, but the interactive classes keep us active. On busy days, we have presentations or events to manage. Those days are stressful, but the satisfaction after completing the work feels great. After college, I usually revise, plan for the next day, and relax with my friends.
Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?
Gaurika Chhabra: The hostels are quite comfortable and well-maintained. Cleanliness is given top priority, and the rooms and washrooms are regularly cleaned. The food is served on time and tastes good, almost like home. There are also facilities like laundry and a common area to relax. Overall, it's a safe and comfortable place to stay.
Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?
Gaurika Chhabra: I haven't faced any medical emergency so far, but the campus is prepared for it. The staff and hostel warden are always ready to help in such situations. There are first-aid kits available and arrangements to take students to nearby hospitals if needed. Everyone here is supportive and caring. That gives us a sense of safety and trust.
Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?
Gaurika Chhabra: Balancing everything is not too hard if you stay disciplined. I try not to delay work and avoid procrastination. Meeting deadlines and planning tasks ahead really helps. Sometimes, I have to sacrifice a bit of sleep, but it’s worth it. In the corporate world, this kind of routine will be common, so I’m getting used to it now.
Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students’ point of view?
Gaurika Chhabra: There are many active clubs on campus like E-Cell, HR, Finance, Cultural, and Marketing. I am part of the Entrepreneurship Cell and have gained great experience through it. These clubs give us chances to learn beyond books—like leadership, teamwork, and communication. We also attend webinars, fests, and workshops. It’s fun and educational at the same time.
Careers360: Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?
Gaurika Chhabra: Yes, our college regularly posts about events and student achievements in magazines and on social media. There are also banners on campus showing students’ success stories, which motivates others. These updates help everyone stay informed and inspired. They also show how much the college values student efforts. It’s a great way to celebrate everyone’s progress.
Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?
Gaurika Chhabra: Our canteens are the most popular hangout spots, even during short breaks. Students love to grab a quick coffee or snacks and relax there. Nearby, there’s a café called Chai Garam in the other campus. When we have free time, we go there to chill with friends. The food and vibe of that place are really nice.
Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?
Gaurika Chhabra: We don’t get a lot of free time because of classes, events, and presentations. But when we do, we enjoy it to the fullest. In winter, we sit in the sun in the open field and chat. In summer, we run to the Nescafé canteen for a cold chocolate coffee. Small moments like these refresh us and keep us going.
Careers360: Do you have any Facebook page of your campus where the students express their views, jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life at campus?
Gaurika Chhabra: Yes, our campus has social media pages on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Students post confessions, share views, upload photos from trips, and talk about campus life. We also have updates on industrial visits and special programs like the international immersion to Malaysia and leadership trips to Uttarakhand. These platforms show that our college life is about learning, fun, and personal growth.
Careers360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?
Gaurika Chhabra: Right now, we are preparing for internships, so I don’t know full details about placements. But I know that many good companies visit for recruitment, especially in marketing. The process includes group discussions and personal interviews. Companies select students based on talent, communication, and overall personality. So, working on skills from the start really helps in getting placed.
