Careers360: Summer internship is mandatory in all AIM campuses. Where did you pursue it and what was the duration? What were the steps to get into it?
Komal Sharma: Yes, summer internship is mandatory in our college. I have also done my Summer Internship Placement in Outlook Publication Limited for 2 months from 1 May to 30 June 2024. To get the Internship placement, there was a selection process.
There were two rounds of selection, first was a Group Discussion Round and then 2nd was a Personal Interview round. I have also earned certifications in Advanced Excel, Power BI, Python, Statistics, and Taxation, which have equipped me with technical and analytical skills relevant to my field.
Careers360: Please give details on the assistance you received from the faculty, peers and placement office about the internships?
Komal Sharma: The institute faculty and company staff were really helpful with a detailed program with some handholding so that I was comfortable in the new environment. They put me on some projects and reviewed and counselled me regularly. It was a great learning experience for me.
Careers360: How was your experience with the summer internships? What are the key takeaways that you can look back on from it?
Komal Sharma: I gained practical experience by completing my internship in the Finance domain at Outlook Publication Limited. I was able to see that practice is different from theory but that they need to synergize together to work optimally. I experienced the practical application of what I had learned theoretically. I can get a sampler of how my life would be when I join an employer. I saw the dynamics in work environments that will prepare me for the challenges of working full-time when I pass out of AIM.
