IIM Ahmedabad Final Placement Report 2018 - IIM Ahmedabad had completed the final placement process for PGP batch of 2016 -18 in cluster-wise cohorts, with maximum offers from Accenture Strategy. Boston Consulting Group and Amazon made the second highest number of offers. The cluster-wise schedule for IIM Ahmedabad Final Placement 2018 is as follows:

According to IIM Ahmedabad, the placement process was divided into two parts, Lateral, for students with prior work experience and final placement process. As many as 47 companies participated in the Laterals process. The B-School states, "Students were provided the flexibility of making “dream” applications to firms of their choice in a subsequent cluster even with an offer in hand. There were 176 dream applications this year. This gave students the flexibility and choice to build careers in sectors of their preference. Students also had the opportunity to work under the mentorship of Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), IIM Ahmedabad on their entrepreneurial ideas."

Cluster 1 comprised of three cohorts, – investment banking and markets, management consulting and private equity, venture capital and hedge funds.
Top recruiters from Cluster 1 included Accenture Strategy, A. T. Kearney, Bain & Co., Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, McKinsey & Company, Monitor Deloitte, Oliver Wyman & The Boston Consulting Group among others.
The total number of offers made by Accenture Strategy was 17, which includes the Pre Placement Offers (PPOs) as well. Boston Consulting Group made 15 offers.
Finance firms offered (including pre-placement offers) roles in investment banking, private equity, venture capital and capital markets across functions and geographies.
The B-School mentions, “IIM-A has always had an extremely rich mix of firms from diverse sectors. Consulting firms, offering management consulting roles across geographies, continue to hire in large numbers. This reinforces the strength of the general management program at IIM-A.
Cluster 2 comprised five cohorts - Consumer Goods, Consumer Services, Consumer Electronics, Retail B2B & Advisory Consulting. Airtel made the highest number of offers, which is 10, followed by Tata Administrative Services (TAS), which is seven.
The Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Consumer Electronics cohorts included regular recruiters like Airtel, Asian Paints, HUL, L’Oréal, Mondelez, Nestlé, Reckitt Benckiser and Samsung. The General Management and Leadership cohort comprised recruiters such as the C K Birla Group, JSW Group, RPG Group and Tata Administrative Services, while the Advisory Consulting cohort consisted of firms like EY, Protiviti Global and PwC among others.
General Management firms offered leadership roles in Conglomerates, followed by Consumer Goods firms, which extended the highest number of offers including pre-placement offers.

The third cluster comprised 10 cohorts, which included BFSI, Consumer Tech, Core Manufacturing, Education & Tech, Enterprise Tech, IT Consulting, Logistics, Pharma & Health Care, Renewable and GreenTech, Social Enterprise & NGO.
The recruiters of BFSI cohort included firms like American Express, FinIQ, Fullerton, RBL, Spandana and Yes Bank. Highest recruiters were EXL (IT Consulting), and American Express (BFSI) making a total of 10 offers each. IIM Ahmedabad mentions that there were over 85 dream applications for Cluster 3 and this reinforces the candidate-recruiter fit that the Cluster-Cohort system offers.
About 125 companies participated offering 150 different roles. Accenture Strategy made the maximum offers, 18, followed by BCG and Amazon with 14 offers each. Among global banks, HSBC and JP Morgan were the largest recruiters, hiring five students each. In the sales and marketing domain, Airtel extended eight offers followed by HUL (five). With seven offers, TAS was the largest recruiter in the General Management cohort. Microsoft made eight offers, which is the highest in the Enterprise Tech cohort. In BFSI, American Express made eight offers followed by Yes Bank and FinIQ with six offers each. In IT Consulting, EXL was the highest recruiter with eight offers.
Sector-wise Top Recruiters
Recruiters in the management consulting domain included Accenture Strategy, A.T. Kearney, Bain & Co., McKinsey & Co., Monitor Deloitte, Oliver Wyman and The Boston Consulting Group among others.
Prominent recruiters in the Investment Banking and Markets space include Barclays, Citi Bank, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Standard Chartered. The Private Equity & Venture Capital cohort included recruiters like Kedaara Capital and Matrix Partners. The Banking, Financial Services & Insurance recruiters included firms like American Express, Bajaj Finserv, FinIQ, Fullerton, HSBC, and Yes Bank.
Sales and Marketing
Regular recruiters like HUL, Nestle, P&G, Reckitt Benckiser and Wipro Consumer Care among others participated in the IIM Ahmedabad final placement process of 2018.
The General Management cohort saw participation from Aditya Birla Group, C.K. Birla, RPG Group and Tata Administrative Services among others.
The Consumer Services cohort saw participation from firms like Airtel, IndiGo and Star TV. The Enterprise Tech and Consumer Tech cohorts saw participation from firms like Magicpin, Microsoft, Nykaa, OYO Rooms and UpGrad among others. Firms which participated in the Laterals process included Adidas Germany, Flipkart, L.E.K. Consulting, Lodha Group, Microsoft, Parthenon and Wipro Global.
The institute has completed the final placement process for its PG Programme in Food and Agribusiness Management on February 13, 2018, for the 2016-18 batch. All the 46 students of the batch were presented with diverse opportunities in food, agribusiness and allied sectors. A total of 24 companies of different sectors such as FMCG, Food Processing, e-Commerce, Agri Inputs and Services, Food and Agri Consulting, BFSI and Social Development, participated in the final placement process. The maximum package offered to the students for a domestic location(within India) was Rs. 72 Lakhs and the average package was Rs 24.45 Lakhs. For the international location (outside India) the highest package offered was USD 99172 (Rs. 66.45 Lakhs) while average package was USD 73013 (Rs 48.92 Lakhs)
The sector which provides the maximum number of placement offers was the consulting domain, followed by BFSI(Banking Financial Services and Insurance) and the sales and marketing sector. The total number of offers accepted by the student in the final placement were 398 out of which 121 offers were made from the consulting domain.
Some of the top recruiters participating in the placement drive were Accenture Consulting, Deloitte and The Boston Consulting Group. From BFSI sector the top recruiters were Barclays, Citi Bank, JP Morgan and many banking firms. Recruiters from other sector were Wipro, Aditya Birla Group, Tata Administrative Service and many others.
