This interview is brought to you by Careers360. In this interview, Abhinav, a B.Com student, talks about the summer internships offered at GBS Phagwara.
Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. (a bit of the background like graduation, place and any such thing).
Abhinav: My name is Abhinav, and I’m from Phagwara. I am pursuing my graduation in B.Com from GNA University. I’ve always been curious about how businesses work and how decisions are made in companies, which motivated me to take up the commerce domain.
Careers360: Tell us something about your GBS campus and what made you choose it
Abhinav: GNA Business School (GBS) has a modern campus with smart classrooms, a library with a lot of books, and a very helpful atmosphere. I chose GBS because it focuses on learning by doing, getting experience in the field, and helping students find jobs. Also, I heard good things about the faculty and curriculum from seniors and professionals.
Careers360: What is the course you are pursuing at GBS and what made you choose this specialisation?
Abhinav: I am pursuing a B.Com with a specialisation in Accounting and Finance. I chose this because I am passionate about this field and want to build a career where I can solve real business problems and work in a dynamic environment. This specialisation also opens up a wide range of job opportunities.
Careers360: Summer internship is mandatory in all GBS campuses. Where did you pursue it and what was the duration? What were the steps to get into it?
Abhinav: Yes, our summer internship was mandatory and very helpful. I did mine for a duration of 2 months. The steps included applying through the placement cell, submitting my CV, and going through an interview round. The company selected me based on my interest and basic knowledge of the subject.
Careers360: Please give details on the assistance you received from the faculty, peers and placement office with regard to the internships?
Abhinav: The Faculty members & Mentors helped us pick the right company based on our area of study. They also helped us get ready for interviews and make our resumes better. The Corporate Relationship Department (CRD) set up interviews and shared information about internships. Even our senior friends helped us by telling us about their experiences and giving us advice. Overall, the support system was strong.
Careers360: How was your experience with the summer internships? What are the key takeaways that you can look back on from it?
Abhinav: As a finance student, the internship taught me a lot. I got to use ideas like financial analysis, budgeting, and working with real financial data. I also learnt how a business makes decisions about money. I learnt how to manage my time better, how to work in a corporate setting, and how to read financial reports. It really helped me feel more sure of myself and gave me a better idea of what I want to do with my life in finance.

An SEO Analyst is a web professional who is proficient in the implementation of SEO strategies to target more keywords to improve the reach of the content on search engines. He or she provides support to acquire the goals and success of the client’s campaigns.

The aims and objectives of the individuals who opt for a career as a digital marketing executive are similar to those of a marketing professional: to build brand awareness, promote company services or products, and increase conversions.
