Should I choose GMAT or NMAT after B.Com?

dhanshree1501 13th Dec, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

I hope you are doing well.

Comparing the two exams NMAT and GMAT,

GMAT is accepted and recognized by more than 2,100 universities in 144 countries. NMAT is only accepted  for applications to B School in India. Therefore, if you are aiming for an overseas B school for an MBA or similar program, GMAT is your best bet. GMAT or NMAT, any exam you take is always beneficial. You can choose from both depending on your needs and  the place of business  you want to participate in. However,  study planning and consistent exam preparation are key to  good results and  admission to the business school of your choice.

I hope this helps.

Thank you!!

How much time does it takes to prepare for NMAT?

ritika patel 22nd Dec, 2021

let's get the short answer out of the way up front. No, you can't do it in a month or less, Honestly. I would like to recommend you a set of 8- 12 weeks. this will be sufficient.

Familiarity First

Your first order of business is to get acquainted with the test. You can accomplish this with some reading, and much of it can be done at this site. You can start with catkins NMAT videos to get an overlook about the exams, which will only take an hour.

Next, focus on aspects of the NMAT that you probably aren’t accustomed to. The two question types that pose the most problems for newcomers are Data Sufficiency and Reading Comprehension, especially the former. Again, you can read up on those topics at this site to learn some techniques to help you internalize the question type and pick up a few more points on test day.

How do I prepare for GK section of NMAT?

ritika patel 24th Dec, 2021

Dear Aspirant,

Please note there is no GK section in NMAT Exam. It only has three sections, and this is how you can start preparing for them:

Quant: Start by making your foundation strong-Percentages, Ratios, Time Speed Distance, Profit Loss Discount. Try to be very thorough with these topics if you want to ace any MBA entrance.

Logical Reasoning: Start with very basic problems. Solve previous year papers.

Verbal: Build your vocabulary, though NMAT will have no direct questions from this year on, it will help immensely to improve your RC skills.

The focus should be on improving the basics from an early stage and gradually mmoving to more difficult topics. To have a balanced approach, a course such as the NMAT course offered by various sites can help, because it caters specifically to NMAT. Such a course will ensure strong basics (which will definitely help you in other MBA entrance exams) and at the same time will help you crack NMIMS Mumbai.
