Kratika, We do not have special Quantitative Aptitude classes for IPMAT. But we can help you with the syllabus and tips as how to prepare for IPMAT.

IPMAT has 2 sections Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Now QA has 60 marks allotted and VA has 40 marks. Each correct answer gets you 4 marks and a wrong answer takes away 1 mark in the form of negative marking. Though there has been no official release of any syllabus, based on examinations over the years, it has been concluded that few topics are the most covered,

QA:

Number system, LCM & HCF, Percentage, Quadratic Equations, Binomial Theorem, Functions, Mensuration, Permutation and Combination, Probability, Profit, Loss and Discounts, Simple and Compound Interest, Progressions, Ratio and Proportion, Mixtures and Alligations, Logarithms, Time, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Trigonometry, Geometery, Problems on Ages, Series and Unitary Method, Set Theory, Data Interpretation and Equations.

Because this section involves mathematics and takes most of your time, your focus should be on solving the problems efficiently in the beginning. Even if it takes time, practise upto perfection. Practise as many questions as you can in the conventional way. As and when you get a grip on the subject, you can go for short cuts. Memorise tables, square roots, cube roots, conversion from percent to fraction, etc. Solve sample papers on Mathematics. In the beginning, do not worry about the time it takes. As you practise, you will get the hang of the subject and it will be easier for you.

VA:

Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Sentence Rearrangement, Sentence Correction, Sentence Completion, Correct Usage of words and phrases and verbal analogies.

Read articles from time to time. Follow newspapers, magazines, and watch the news channels and browse the internet to keep yourself updated. You will need a lot of reading to help you in the comprehension section. You will need speed to help you in this section and you can achieve that only by thorough practise and reading. Take time to understand the question because most answers are interlinked.

ipmat best crash course online ?

manisha.gupta 13th Apr, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

IPMAT is not very tough exam, You can prepare it at home. Here are some preparation tips you can follow.

Focus on section wise topics: In the last 3 years, the exam pattern had changed from the initial years. You should know the complete syllabus.

Quantitative Ability: This section has topics like Arithmetic, Algebra, APGP, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Geometry etc.

Verbal Ability: The questions are based on Reading Comprehension and English Usage. There are chances that the questions on Synonym-Antonym would be a bit difficult, so focus on improvising the same. The rest of the topics include Para Jumble, Grammar, Fill in the blanks, Word usage, and Para completion.

Your preparation level and scores are well reflected through your mock tests. How you are performing, which section you face troubles, notice the weak areas and focus on the weakness in the last week.

There is no section wise time limit of the test, hence you have to be careful about the time management factor. Divide the time wisely between the two sections while solving mocks. Allot time to each section and save the last 15 minutes for revision. Follow the same through the last week and on the test day.

Good Luck!

Why this course IPM is only confined to only two Institutions? What is total fees of the course? What is cut off marks or % of the entrance exam to qualify for the course? What is scope for job and its availability?

Sk Student Expert 4th Jun, 2020

Just as you see changes in other industries, the education industry is also going through many changes and a beneficial change is the integrated courses as this is aimed at students who are very sure of the profession they want to pursue.  Hence this course is aimed at 10+2 student and IIM Indore was the first institute to develop this course.

Student selection is based on:

  • An application form aimed at understanding the students’ proficiency in academics, as well as in co-curricular activities.

  • An entrance examination follows, to test the applicant’s aptitude, logical reasoning and proficiency in English and Mathematics.

  • Shortlisted candidates appear for Written Ability Test (WA) & Personal Interview (PI). The interview judges the students’ level of confidence, communication skills, general awareness, persuasion skills and knowledge.

  • Batch intake is 150

  • Fees will work out to a total of 20lakhs for the five years

An IIM graduate commands a certain premium in the job market, so if you get in, you already got a heads up! The rest is in your hands.

Good Luck
