Why this course IPM is only confined to only two Institutions? What is total fees of the course? What is cut off marks or % of the entrance exam to qualify for the course? What is scope for job and its availability?

Sk Student Expert 4th Jun, 2020

Just as you see changes in other industries, the education industry is also going through many changes and a beneficial change is the integrated courses as this is aimed at students who are very sure of the profession they want to pursue.  Hence this course is aimed at 10+2 student and IIM Indore was the first institute to develop this course.

Student selection is based on:

  • An application form aimed at understanding the students’ proficiency in academics, as well as in co-curricular activities.

  • An entrance examination follows, to test the applicant’s aptitude, logical reasoning and proficiency in English and Mathematics.

  • Shortlisted candidates appear for Written Ability Test (WA) & Personal Interview (PI). The interview judges the students’ level of confidence, communication skills, general awareness, persuasion skills and knowledge.

  • Batch intake is 150

  • Fees will work out to a total of 20lakhs for the five years

An IIM graduate commands a certain premium in the job market, so if you get in, you already got a heads up! The rest is in your hands.

what about the non math student applying for IPMAT Will it be scorable?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 11th Apr, 2020
IPMAT has 2 sections Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Now QA has 60 marks allotted and VA has 40 marks. Each correct answer gets you 4 marks and a wrong answer takes away 1 mark in the form of negative marking. Though there has been no official release of any syllabus, based on examinations over the years, it has been concluded that few topics are the most covered,
QA:
Number system, LCM & HCF, Percentage, Quadratic Equations, Binomial Theorem, Functions, Mensuration, Permutation and Combination, Probability, Profit, Loss and Discounts, Simple and Compound Interest, Progressions, Ratio and Proportion, Mixtures and Alligations, Logarithms, Time, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Trigonometry, Geometery, Problems on Ages, Series and Unitary Method, Set Theory, Data Interpretation and Equations.
VA:
Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Sentence Rearrangement, Sentence Correction, Sentence Completion, Correct Usage of words and phrases and verbal analogies.

So QA is where you will need to focus. It needs lot of practise wherher your are a Math student or not. Because this section involves mathematics and takes most of your time, your focus should be on solving the problems efficiently in the beginning. Even if it takes time, practise upto perfection. Practise as many questions as you can in the conventional way. As and when you get a grip on the subject, you can go for short cuts. Memorise tables, square roots, cube roots, conversion from percent to fraction, etc. Solve sample papers on Mathematics. In the beginning, do not worry about the time it takes. As you practise, you will get the hang of the subject and it will be easier for you.

Can I prepare the whole syllabus of ipmat in 20 days?

Prakarsh Kaushik 7th Apr, 2020

Hello,

If you are willing to spend 6-7 hours of your day seriously studying and practising questions for the next 20 days then you can complete the syllabus and also have a good probability of cracking the exam.

There are 100 questions in IPMAT so make sure that you work on your problem solving speed. Pay more attention to Verbal Ability because this section seems easy though students make silly mistakes. For Quantitative Ability Section Practise as many questions as you can and also solbe sample IPMAT Papers. Solve as many sample papers as you can, this will make you familiar with the paper pattern and help you in scoring good.

Adil Suaib Khan Student Expert 4th Apr, 2020

Hii Sonia,

IPMAT is for admissions to the 5years integrated BBA+MBA course at IIM Indore. The IPMAT or the Integrated program management ability test is highly competitive exam . There about 66 seats for the general category and 120 in total . It 2 sections Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability where QA carries 60 marks and VA has 40 marks respectively.

The entrance test for getting admissions in the 5 year integrated course of the Indian Institute of management Indore is quite difficult and you have to study vigorously for clearing the entrance test to get a seat in IIM. For the maths part you need to get your class 11th and 12th maths basics clear by your boards books prescribed by the boards or you can do R.D sharma complete to have a through knowledge . For english you can do the book ' Word Power Made easy ' as it helps for the verbal aptitude part . Doing this will ensure you getting a lot of marks.
