do I have to apply seperately for IPMAT indore and rohtak?

Sudeshna Dutta 18th Sep, 2021

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well.

Initially established in 2011 by IIM Indore for a five-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM), IPMAT was subsequently adopted by IIM Rohtak and is now in its third iteration. The admission examinations for IIM Rohtak and IIM Indore are conducted separately. According to the Association of MBAs in London, the programme has been accredited (4th and 5th Year). Since its inception, the Institute of Professional Management (IPM) has seen continuous growth. It is designed for students who want to develop their management and leadership abilities. International Project Management (IPM) from IIM-Rohtak and IIM Indore is a broad and comprehensive programme that integrates the curriculum from both graduation and post-graduate studies in management. The IPM programme is intended to develop some of the most outstanding young leaders who will go on to acquire management abilities. The whole IPM course is spread over five years and consists of 15 terms, or three terms each year on average.

Hope that you got the answer to your question. Feel free to comment back incase of any doubts. All the Best!

Hey

Hope you are doing well.

In many of the competitive exams, there will be fee waiver and reservation to SC/ST/PWD candidates. It is a part of policy to empower the students or people from that communities.Reservation is something for social upliftment.

i m in class 11th right now so is it good to start preparing for IPMAT exaam or should i start that in 12th?

pdwords Student Expert 29th Aug, 2021

Hello,

You can start your preparation from 12th standard, but you need to manage your studies and entrance test well, and this requires a well organized time table on your part, anyway to provide you a brief regarding IPMAT, its eligibility  criteria is passed 10+2 from a recognized board having mandatory 60% in 10th as well as 12th, for SC/ST/PwD it's 55%. . This year the exam pattern has gone through a change which I have discussed in a detailed manner as below-

  • The entrance test is conducted for  a duration of 90 minutes in online mode , there are mainly three sections Quantitative Aptitude has MCQs and Short-Answer questions with each having time bound of 30 minutes carrying 20 questions for MCQs and 10 questions for short answer, and Verbal Ability (MCQs) carrying 30 questions are to be answered in 30 minutes.
  • For each correct answer, four marks are awarded.
  • There is negative marking scheme, for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted except short answer of quantitative aptitude section which doesn't carry any negative marking.

Coming to the syllabus portion of each section-

  • The section of Quantitative Aptitude consists of Number systems, Data Interpretation, Averages, Quantitative reasoning, Distance, Time and Work, Mixtures and Alligations, Interpretation of tables, Common graphs & charts , etc.
  • The section of Verbal Ability consists of Sentence completion, Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms, and Phrases, Comprehension of passages, Proper Usage of Words, Vocabulary, Grammar, Fill in the Blanks etc.

Recommended Books:

It's important to use appropriate yet limited study materials, also consistent practice is the key here towards excellence

  • For Quantitative Aptitude, you can use NCERTs class 11th and 12th for conceptual understanding, and later on can choose between "How to prepare for Quantitative Aptitude for the CAT" by Arun Sharma, or The Pearson Guide to Quantitative Aptitude for competitive exams.
  • For English Section, you can use Wren and Martin book for Grammar, Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis is a great book for vocabulary building, some of the books for particularly this exam are How to prepare for  Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension for the CAT, by Arun Sharma and Meenakshi Upadhyay, The Pearson Guide to IIM-Indore-IPM Entrance Examination.

Based on the aptitude test scores, candidates will be further shortlisted for written ability test, personal interview, and eventually merit list will be prepared based on composite scores of each category.

Till what rank were the waitlisted students students selected in General,Obc,sc,st,Pwd categories in IPM indore 2020?

Sudeshna Dutta 30th Sep, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing well.

Every year, thousands of students seek for admission to the IIMs' MBA programmes, which are among the most prestigious in the world. Because the total number of seats available at all 20 IIMs is about 4000, not everyone is admitted. Once the initial list of chosen applicants is released, a second batch of selected students is held on standby in case any of the first group decides to decline their position. The seat is then given to the next most qualified applicant to fill it. The word "waitlist" refers to a list of students who are waiting for someone to voluntarily give up their place.

The IIM waitlist is mostly comprised of the amount of seats that have been promoted from the waitlist slab to the offer level. Students spend an inordinate amount of time for the waitlists of IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA), IIM Bangalore (IIMB), and IIM Calcutta (IIMC) to move in order for their prospects of admission to become more favourable. This has been seen year after year. Nonetheless, the newly formed and growing IIM waiting movement has recently attracted widespread notice.

The movement of the waitlist at IIMs and a few other top MBA schools is based on the category. General categories are subjected to very strict criteria, while the SC, ST, OBC and PWD categories are given considerable leeway in their requirements.

IIM Lucknow does not publish a queue for admission. Instead, they publish the merit list, which is more appropriate. In order to be guaranteed a spot on the merit list, a student must get the bare minimum of 12 out of 40 points in the preliminary examination.

IIM Indore

Category Waitlist Statistics
General 776
OBC category 580

Hope you got the answer to your question. Incase of any queries, feel free to question. Have a great day!

TANISHA 29th Sep, 2021

Hi Prakshita. Yes,  if you clear IPMAT, and also clear the interview followed by it,  you will be able to take admission in the 5 year integrated program BBA+ MBA in IIM Indore. You don't have to appear for CAT. Although if you want,  you can quit after BBA in IIM indore and opt for CAT to get into better iims. Refer the following link to know more about IPMAT.
