Please suggest best books for mat exam 2019?

Kshitij Anand 27th Feb, 2019

MAT and ATMA are among the easier MBA entrance examinations that are conducted in the country. It is advisable to prepare for CAT, XAT, IIFT, SNAP as preparing for them will already make you exam ready for exams like MAT and ATMA.

However you can use these books for your reference-

  1. NCERT (Class 9 and 10)- Believe it or not, the best books are often the ones that are the simplest. Try to finish these before going for other books. Follow Wren and Martin for basic English and grammar.
  2. Sarvesh Verma (Quantum Cat for Quants) and/or Nishit K. Sinha(Logical Reasoning, Quants and Verbal Ability)- A good choice to begin with after NCERT books. Solve the lesser difficulty questions first before going on to the more difficult questions. Also both books have awesome examples to learn/solve from.
  3. Arun Sharma (book series)- Not a must have according to me but one can solve the book for the sake of solving a wide range of questions. Start with LOD-I before moving onto LOD-II. LOD-III has ridiculously difficult questions. LOD-III a must for LRDI.
  4. Youtube channels- There are a number of good YouTube channels like Takshzila Shikshak, Dinesh Miglani, Maths by Amiya, ElitesGrid, LearnQuest, iQuanta that have great content worth looking into.
  5. Facebook Groups- Social media has disrupted the way we study and one can find a host of questions on Facebook Groups like LearnQuest, ElitesGrid, iQuanta, Learningroots, Maths by Amiya to solve from. One can even post doubts in the group and it will be answered within an hour or so.

If one follows the above steps, I am more than confident that he/she can score well in most (if not all) of the MBA entrance examinations held in our country.

Cheers!

Do i need to apply for colleges separately even after applying for them in the mat application form?

mdsameenabanu Student Expert 26th Feb, 2019

hi,

while filling the form u have been asked to fill the names of the colleges u r willing to get admissioned. After that u will be getting the call letter from the colleges if u r having ur percentile score above the needed one.

After the call letter u will be facing group discussion and personal interview in the alloted college.

And some colleges need seperate registration.

Sir I scored 99.99 percentile in mat feb 2019...but my graduation score is 48%....will I get admission in simsree through dte cap rounds?

Arushi 6th Apr, 2019

Hi Naveen,

Yes you can apply for simsree. But for backup of management colleges  I would suggest you to keep other good colleges as an options like Christ University, Bangalore. As your graduation score is not that good so there might be chance of not getting  shortlisted.

wish you good luck.

I am persuining BBA(final yr), I have not attended national level exam like as Cat, mat, cmat. I want to do MBA so how can get good college

aashna bakshi 12th Mar, 2019

There is no problem if you have not appeared in any of the management aptitude examinations.you can appear when you complete your graduation so till the time you can start you preparations for various MBA Entrance  Examinations. You can join a coaching institute, you can also opt for online coaching or can prepare for it through self study. Give mocks to judge your aptitude and improve on  your weak areas. You can also join a company in order to get work experience and do your MBA preparations side by side.

So, at last choose the option which satisfies you best.

Good Luck

Hi,i have given mat feb exam but i couldnt do well ,i am thinking to appear for mat may exam what are the good colleges under mat may exam?

Shravan Hari 25th Feb, 2019

Hi Manpreet, generally there is nothing like fixed among colleges accepting feb score or may score etc. It all depends on the seats available at the college during the may admissions. Generally most of the colleges accept Cat, XAT, CMAT and other exams etc. So the chances of having remaining seats are less. Some of the colleges accepting MAT are,

1) BIMtech, Noida (good chances)

2) Xime, Bangalore (less chances)

3) ITM Business School, Mumbai (good chance)

4) Amity Business school, Noida (medium chances)

5) BIMM, pune (good chances)

6) Pune University, Pune ( less chances)

Is it wise to study for MAT from home? Or are classes better??

daduz333 28th Feb, 2019

Dear Aspirant ,

You can choose any option based on convenience. If you are a working professional you can prepare for the exam at home. But going for coaching is always better, because that will help you to focus more on exam preparation and score more. If you are seeking for coaching these are the premier coaching centers
